Long-span bridges are generally often needed in the world of construction to step over areas at the bottom that cannot be disturbed by the installation of bridge piers. In this study, the bridge has a structure in the form of steel I girders that form largest box height of 4.5 meters. The bridge has a span length of 120-meters for the mid span and 70-meters for the side span. This study focuses on results comparison between structural modeling with those of loading tests carried out on the bridge that has completed the construction period. In this regard, the study evaluates the bridge deflection with the changes in the thickness of the steel I-girder composite slab and due to the change of splice connections and bolts to elastic springs."

"For long-span bridges, wind action is a dominant factor in their safety and serviceability. A large number of long-span bridges have been built in Japan over the past 30 years, and tremendous amounts of research and technical development have been accomplished in wind-resistant design. This book is a compilation of the results of active research and development. Wind-resistant design standards generated in Japan are described in the first few chapters. Then comes information such as design wind speed, structural damping, wind tunnel tests, and analyses, which provide the basis of the design standards. Wind-induced vibrations and their control of girders, towers, cables, and other features are explained with examples of field measurements. Comprehensive listings of Japanese experience in vibration control are also presented. "
