ABSTRACT The energy crisis in the future will be a threat for human life. Many advancement of technology currently focus on creating something that perform better than its predecessor but consuming less power. LED lighting technology has been introduced as a breakthrough of technology which possesses big advantages over the other lighting technology. LED lighting technology is able to produce a high luminous flux with very low power consumption, and also lasts longer than others. By consuming lower power, hence the amount of energy being consumed in order to generate the same amount of light will be reduced, and hence, energy saving will happen. This undergraduate thesis discusses replacement analysis of lighting at classrooms at Engineering Center of Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia. The analysis is in terms of illuminance aspect, power quality performance and cost, and it is done by replacing the existing CFL with three different options of LED lamp exist in the market with competitive price. The study suggests that using LED lamp as a replacement for CFL at classrooms at Engineering Center of Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia is more efficient; consuming less energy by 42.86 , and moreover saving the electricity cost as well, from IDR 864,360 annually to IDR 493,920. A comparative analysis between the three different LED lamp options is also performed.

Manusia memiliki kebutuhan untuk menghuni. Namun, dalam menghuni suatu hunian di kota besar yang padat penduduk, beberapa masyarakat terutama yang memiliki penghasilan rendah memilih untuk menghuni di rumah susun yang seringkali memiliki unit dengan ukuran kecil. Dalam kegiatan menghuni, furnitur hadir sebagai objek yang dibutuhkan manusia untuk dapat digunakan dalam beraktivitas. Furnitur dalam menempati ruang, terutama pada kondisi besaran ruang hunian rumah susun yang terbatas, memiliki peran terhadap pencahayaan yang terjadi pada suatu ruang. Dengan adanya kajian teori dan analisis studi kasus terhadap unit rumah susun, penulisan ini akan melihat bagaimana karakteristik dari furnitur dalam menempati ruang dan bagaimana ia digunakan manusia dalam beraktivitas pada ruang hunian. Studi dilakukan pada hunian rumah susun di daerah DKI Jakarta dan ditemukan bahwa furnitur pada unit memiliki peran dalam seberapa besar ia dapat meneruskan pencahayaan pada ruangan. ......Humans have a need to inhabit. However, when living in a large densely populated city, some people, especially those with low incomes, choose to live in flats which often have small units. In dwelling activities, furniture is present as an object that humans need to be able to use it in their activities. Furniture in occupying space, especially in conditions of limited residential space, has a role in the lighting that occurs in a room. With the theoretical study and case study analysis of apartment units, writing this will look at how the characteristics of furniture occupy space and how it is used by humans in their activities in residential spaces. The study was conducted on residential flats in the DKI Jakarta area and it was found that the furniture in the unit has a role in how much it can transmit lighting to the room.
