Abstrak :
Penelitian ini membahas mengenai apakah layanan referensi yang dimiliki oleh Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia dapat dijadikan sebagai representasi dari perpustakaan perguruan tinggi. Representasi ini dilihat berdasarkan persepsi pengguna terhadap layanan tersebut dan juga dilihat dari strategi yang dilakukan oleh Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanan referensi mereka. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa layanan referensi Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia dapat dijadikan sebagai representasi dari perpustakaan perguruan tinggi karena Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia berhasil membuat layanan referensi mereka menjadi lebih aktif dengan menghadirkan berbagai inovasi di dalamnya untuk lebih mendekatkan diri dengan pengguna. Selain itu pendapat pengguna terkait layanan referensi di Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia juga semakin menguatkan tujuan dari penelitian ini.

This study discusses about whether the reference services in the University of Indonesia Library can be used as a representation of the college library. This representation views based on user perception of reference services and the strategies undertaken by the University of Indonesia Library in improving the quality of their reference services. This study is a qualitative research with case study method. These results indicate that the reference services of University of Indonesia Library can be used as a representation of the college library because the University of Indonesia Library makes their reference services to become more active by presenting a variety of innovations to get closer to the user. Additionally, related user opinions about reference services in University of Indonesia Library also reinforce the goal of this research.
