Penelitian ini menganalisis tentang peran perpustakaan SMPN 85 Jakarta dalam mendukung Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. Masalah yang ingin dibahas pada penelitian ini adalah bagaimana peran perpustakaan sekolah dalam mendukung gerakan literasi sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi peran perpustakaan sekolah dalam  mendukung Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen selama bulan Agustus-November 2022. Pemilihan informan dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria pihak yang terlibat. Hasil dalam penelitian ini adalah peran perpustakaan sekolah dalam Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah peran perpustakaan sekolah dalam gerakan literasi sekolah ada dua yaitu inovator dan founder. Peran sebagai inovator  karena inovasi Perpustakaan sekolah dalam gerakan literasi sekolah. Inovasi yang dihasilkan yakni jadwal kunjungan perpustakaan (tahap pembiasaan), lomba pojok baca (tahap pengembangan) serta pojok baca (tahap pembelajaran). Peran sebagai founder karena Perpustakaan sekolah yang mengatur jalannya baik dari pra acara-pasca acara gerakan literasi sekolah yang diinovasikan oleh Perpustakaan sekolah. ......This study analyzes the role of the SMPN 85 Jakarta library in supporting the School Literacy Movement. The problem to be discussed in this study is the role of the school library in supporting the school literacy movement. The purpose of this research is to identify the role of the school library in supporting the School Literacy Movement. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collected using observation, interviews, and document analysis from August to November 2022. The informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique with criteria of the parties involved. The result of this study is the role of the school library in the School Literacy Movement. This research concludes that there are two roles of school libraries in the school literacy movement, namely innovators and founders. The role of an innovator is because of the innovation of the school library in the school literacy movement. The resulting innovations are library visit schedules (habitation stage), reading corner competitions (development stage), and reading corners (learning stage). The role of a founder is because the school library manages the running from the pre-event-post-event of the school literacy movement that was innovated by school library.

Perpustakaan Sekolah merupakan unit kerja sebagai perangkat mutlak yang seharusnya terdapat di sekolah. Dalam kurikulum modern perpustakaan sekolah merupakan jembatan pengetahuan dalam belajar selain di kelas. Keberadaan perpustakaan sekolah di tengah sekolah luar biasa merupakan saran pendukung yang dapat mendorong siswa untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan yang sama, untuk mengenal lebih luas dunia nyata. Perkembangan peranan perpustakaan sekolah terkait dengan kebijakan dan perhatian semua pihak dari mulai kepala sekolah, guru, murid, serta hubungan kerjasama dengan institusi luar. Selanjutnya perpustakaan sekolah sendiri ditunjang dengan komponen-komponen di dalamnya seperti layanan dan kegiatan, koleksi, fasilitas, serta tenaga pengelola. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif berbentuk studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi dan catatan lapangan sederhana. Sekolah Luar Biasa Tunanetra Pembina Tingkat Nasional di Jakarta tepatnya di daerah Lebak Bulus Jalan Pertanian Raya merupakan sekolah yang ditunjuk pemerintah sebagai percontohan Sekolah Luar Biasa, berdasarkan hasil penelitian tahun 1984 Perpustakaan SLB A PTN memiliki kondisi perpustakaan yang baik, dari segi koleksi, layanan, fasilitas serta tenaga pengelolanya yang dapat mengelola perpustakaan dengan pengolahan koleksi yang baik. Namun ternyata hal tersebut hanya berjalan sekitar 6 tahun dari tahun 1983, selebihnya kondisi perpustakaan SLB A PTN mengalami naik dan turun, bisa dikatakan mengalami kemunduran selama kurun waktu 18 tahun. Naik turunnya kondisi tersebut sangat berpengaruh besar terhadap perkembangan perpustakaan terkait dengan fungsional semestinya. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian di lapangan, kondisi perpustakaan yang sekarang belum bersesuaian dengan teori tentang penyelenggaraan perpustakaan sekolah semestinya. Oleh sebab itu, peranan perpustakaan SLB sekarang masih jalan ditempat hanya sebatas membantu kelancaran belajar mengajar dengan kegiatan peminjaman koleksi brailenya, berkaitan dengan hal tersebut perpustakaan selalu mengadakan kebutuhan materi belajar yang akan digunakan tiap ajaran baru. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, kegiatan yang cukup aktif dilakukan adalah sebatas layanan peminjaman buku pelajaran dan fiksi.
