Skripsi membahas Kagunan Basa suatu istilahmasyarakat Jawa yang berarti kesenian yang mengandung keindahan bahasa. Kagunan basa itu sendiri merupakan bagian dari Kagunan Adiluhung yaitu kebudayaan yang berisi keindahan, selain Kagunan Basa, yang termasuk Kagunan Adiluhung antara lain: Kagunan Swara( kesenian yang mempunyai keindahan suara), Kagunan Karawitan ( kesenian tatabuhan yang indah), Kagunan Nggambar/Nyungging ( seni ukir-ukiran, seni lukis) dan lain sebagainya.Kagunan Basa itu sangat berperan dalam kesusastraan, skripsi untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh Kagunan Basa itu dipakai dalam suatu karya sastra.
