ABSTRAKPenelitian ini mengkaji tentang citra Indonesia di mata Seo Mi-suk dalam esai Indonesia, Geu Neurimui Mihak yang terdapat dalam kumpulan esai Jeokdoesoui Sanchaek karyanya sendiri. Esai ini ditulis berdasarkan pengalaman nyata, perasaan, dan pendapat pengarang terhadap kebudayaan mentalitas Indonesia yang santai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui citra Indonesia di mata Seo Mi-suk, sebagai penulis dari Korea, yang terdapat dalam esai Indonesia, Geu Neurimui Mihak. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode antropologi sastra untuk menganalisa citra Indonesia yang terdapat dalam esai dari segi manusia dan kebudayaan dalam berbagai aspeknya. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah pengarang pada awalnya mempunyai citra negatif terhadap kebudayaan mentalitas santai Indonesia. Akan tetapi, seiring berjalannya waktu, citra ini berubah menjadi positif dan pengarang bahkan dapat memaknai kebudayaan mentalitas santai tersebut sebagai pelajaran untuk lebih bersabar dan menghargai hidup.
ABSTRACTThis study reviews the image of Indonesia through the perspective of Seo Mi suk in the essay Indonesia, Geu Neurimui Mihak which is included in her book collection of essays, Jeokdoesoui Sanchaek. This essay was written based on real experiences, feelings and opinion of the author towards the culture of Indonesia relaxed mentality. The purpose of this study was to find out the image of Indonesia through the perspective of Seo Mi suk, as Korean writer, in the essay Indonesia, Geu Neurimui Mihak by Seo Mi suk. In conducting this study, the writer used the anthropological literature to analyze the image of Indonesia in the essay in terms of human and culture within its various aspects. The result of this study is that the author initially had a negative image of the culture of Indonesia relaxed mentality. However, over time, the image turned into a positive one and the author could even interpret the culture of the relaxed mentality as a lesson to be more patient and respect the value of life."
