Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian semantis yang mengkaji makna pada verba bahasa Jepang Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis komponen makna yang dimiliki oleh kumpulan verba yang memiliki makna lsquo melihat rsquo serta menjelaskan relasi makna yang terdapat dalam kumpulan verba tersebut Penulis mengumpulkan kata yang memiliki unsur kanji lsquo melihat rsquo dan lsquo mata rsquo dalam sumber data berupa buku ajar perkuliahan Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif analisis dengan menggunakan teori komponen makna Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lingkup makna yang dimiliki oleh masing masing verba tersebut sangat kompleks serta hubungan yang ada merupakan hubungan hiponimi dengan verba miru sebagai hipernim dari kumpulan verba tersebut

ABSTRACT
This is a study on semantic that examines the meaning of Japanese verbs The study focus on analyzing the component that forms the meaning of a group of verbs that share the same meaning of lsquo to see rsquo and explicated the relation formed on the group Data were collected from the language learning textbooks and focused on verbs that contain kanji that has meaning lsquo to see rsquo and lsquo the eye rsquo This is a descriptive analytical study based on the theory of componential analysis of meaning The result of the study shows the complexity of the range of meaning in each verb in which the relation formed in it is a hyponymy and the verb miru is the hypernym of those group of verbs
