ABSTRACT
Perilaku menyimpang dalam ranah pendidikan merupakan hal yang sangat memprihatinkan yang terjadi saat ini. Sekolah harus dapat melaksanakan peranannya sebagai salah satu agen pengendalian sosial dalam mengawasi anak-anak didiknya. Sekolah ldquo;H rdquo; pun menciptakan serangkaian strategi pengendalian sosial dalam mencegah terjadinya perilaku hazing yang pernah menjadi tradisi pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Untuk memahaminya, peneliti pun menggunakan social bond theory dan rational choice theory. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan convergent mixed method dengan subjek penelitian yaitu guru sekolah ldquo;H rdquo; dan siswi sekolah ldquo;H rdquo;. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kekuatan-kekuatan strategi pengendalian sosial yang dilakukan oleh para guru sekolah ldquo;H rdquo; sesuai dengan tiga elemen ikatan sosial oleh Hirschi yaitu attachment, commitment, dan belief. Selain itu, rational choice theory yang digunakan peneliti sebagai teori pendukung membantu peneliti menjelaskan pandangan subyektif yang dimiliki siswi mengenai pertimbangan manfaat dan kerugian yang akan didapatnya jika ingin melakukan atau tidak melakukan perilaku hazing.

ABSTRACT
Occure of deviance behavior nowadays in academic area is one of a tragic state. School had to have implemented up its role as one of agents of social control that ought to supervise their student. The ldquo H rdquo school then has created a set of social control strategy in order to prevent hazing behavior that used to be kind of tradition in the earlier years. This research is using convergent mixed method and the subjects of this research are teacher and student. The researcher is using social bond theory and rational choice theory in order to comprehend the facts. The result of this research had shown that there are some social control strategy through teachers at ldquo H rdquo school which is corresponding to three of social bond elements by Hirschi attachment, commitment, and belief. Furthermore, the researcher is also using rational choice theory as a supporting theory on this research to explain student rsquo s view subjectively about benefits and costs of doing hazing.
