...... The important role of domestic workers on the social life and the countrys economy is not appreciated. They are susceptible to many cases, such as physical, verbal, economic, psychological and sexual violence and even human trafficking problem. These cases occur because domestic workers are not included in the law protection as a job, so many domestic workers rights are not fulfilled, such as getting a decent salary, a clear work deadline, and feeling safe in the workplace. Lack of government attention to domestic workers, making their lives close to poverty. This condition is due to the understanding of the male-centered mainstream economy and economic machine. The economy becomes inhuman because it releases discussion of morality and marginalizes womens domestic activities that are considered less productive, so that they are not worthy of being recognized as economic activities. That notion was rejected by Nelson's feminist economy and new objectivity who wanted economic without gender bias and more humanity. The feminist critique method is used to explain the location of gender bias in the mainstream economy which is the cause of the lack of legal protection for domestic workers, then explain the criticism of feminist economy and the new objectivity of Nelson. The conclusion is that the problem of domestic workers can be solved by Nelsons new objectivity which encourages the government to provide domestic workers with legal protection to guarantee their rights as jobs that have economic value and bargaining position.

Nelson, Julie A.
Abstrak :
Abstract: "Julie A. Nelson debunks theories that teach us that our economic lives are somehow separate from our moral values and our human relationships." "The impediment to envisioning a more considerate economic world, Nelson demonstrates, is a particular assumption that is shared by both neoliberals and the Left. Despite their seemingly insurmountable differences, they both make use of the metaphor, first proposed by Adam Smith, of "the economy as machine." This pervasive idea, she argues, has blinded us to the qualities that make us work and care for one another - qualities that also make businesses thrive and markets grow." "Economics for Humans will both invigorate and inspire readers to rethink the way they view the economy, its possibilities, and their place within it.
