Skripsi ini membahas representasi femininitas dalam anime Gake no Ue no Ponyo karya Hayao Miyazaki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi imaji femininitas dalam anime tersebut. Metode analisis dalam skripsi ini menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Rolland Barthes. Pembahasan dalam skripsi ini menggunakan teori Dorothy Smith dalam bukunya Text, Fact, and Femininity (1990). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa representasi femininitas dalam anime Gake no Ue no Ponyo bertentangan dengan representasi femininitas umumnya ada dalam budaya patriarki, ditampilkan dalam bentuk femininitas yang bernegosiasi yaitu strategic femininity.

ABSTRACT
This study focused on representation of femininity which is contained in Hayao Miyazaki?s anime Gake no Ue no Ponyo. The purposed of this study is to analyze the construction image of femininity that is shown in the anime. The analysis method of this study uses Rolland Barthes semiotic approached. The discussion in this study uses the theory from Dorothy Smith in her book, Text, Fact, and Femininity (1990). The result of this research showed that the representation of femininity in Gake no Ue no Ponyo anime as a contrary to the representations of femininity known in patriarchal culture, showed by the negotiation in femininity namely strategic femininity.

Sepanjang tahun 2020–2022, identitas alpha female sebagai perempuan yang sukses, mandiri, dan percaya diri diperbincangkan di dunia maya, misalnya tiktok dan situs web. Konten-konten yang mengusung tema alpha female juga turut meramaikan tren dunia maya, bahkan beberapa laman pada situs web menyediakan fasilitas kuis untuk mengukur tingkatan alpha female seseorang. Penggambaran perempuan dengan identitas alpha female juga ditampilkan pada Biohackers (2020) musim kedua. Kebebasan, kemampuan, kecerdasan, dan kesetaraan perempuan menjadi fokus pada penelitian ini. Untuk mengetahui persoalan yang berkaitan dengan penggambaran perempuan dengan identitas alpha female sebagai wujud feminitas baru di era posfeminisme, penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kajian pustaka dengan menggunakan teori sinematografi Mascelli (1998) dan konsep posfeminism Gill & Scharff (2011) sebagai acuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa idenitas alpha female dapat ditampilkan dengan cara dan ekspresi yang beragam bagi tiap individu. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa masih belum terwakilkannya perempuan kulit hitam dalam ruang lingkup STEM. ......During the period from 2020 to 2022, the alpha-female-identity representation as successful, independent, and confident women is discussed in a few cyberspaces, such as Tiktok and websites. A lot of alpha female topics also enliven the virtual world trend and some websites even provide free quiz facilities to measure an alpha female level. The depiction of a woman with an alpha female identity is also shown in Biohackers' season two (2021). Women's freedom, ability, intelligence, and equality are the focus of this research. To find out the problems that related to the depiction of women with alpha female identity as a "new form of femininity" in the era of post feminism, the author used qualitative methods and literature review by Mascelli's (1998) cinematographic theory and Gill & Scharff's (2011) post feminism concepts as references. The results showed that the identity of alpha female can be displayed in various ways and expressions for each individual. In addition, this study also shows that black women are still underrepresented in a field of STEM.
