"Makalah ini akan difokuskan kepada peran hubungan masyarakat dalam rangka mendukung kampanye salah satu pemenang pemilihan presiden lalu, yaitu Joko Widodo (dikenal sebagai Jokowi). Kemenangan Jokowi dalam pemilu dikarenakan oleh penggunaan media yang maksimal selama masa kampanye oleh tim kampanye Jokowi. Tim kampanye bisa membantu Jokowi untuk mendapatkan pendukung dan memenangkan pemilu di banyak provinsi di Indonesia. Jokowi adalah salah satu kandidat yang unik karena pesan yang disampaikan dalam kampanyenya sangat kuat dan berbeda. Berbeda dengan kandidat lainnya yang lebih memfokuskan kepada seberapa kuat kekuatan politik mereka dan image mereka sebagai orang yang elite. Kampanye Jokowi lebih memfokuskan kepada imagenya sebagai orang yang rendah hati dan dekat dengan rakyatnya. Makalah ini juga akan membahas sarana yang digunakan oleh praktisi humas selama masa kampanye Jokowi. Makalah ini juga akan menentukan peran hubungan masyarakat dalam proses Jokowi untuk menjadi pemenang dalam pemilu.

This paper will be focused on the role of public relations in order to support the campaign of one of the last presidential election winner, Joko Widodo (as known as Jokowi). The victory of Jokowi in the election is because of numerous uses of media in his campaign by their campaign team. His campaign team was able to help Jokowi to gain voters and win the election in many provinces in Indonesia. This pair is one of the unique candidates for Indonesian president because of his strong and different campaign messages. Other candidates were mostly focused on how strong they are politically and portrait themselves as the person who are majestic. However Jokowi?s campaign is different where he will be more likely to be seen as a humble man who is really close to their people. This paper also examines the tools used by public relations practitioners in regard of Jokowi?s campaign. It will also determine the role of public relations in the process of Jokowi?s way to be the winner of the election."

"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini memfokuskan kajiannya tentang sikap Abuya Dimyati terhadap perubahan politik pada Pemilu 1977. Penelitian ini mempertanyakan mengapa Abuya Dimyati mengambil sikap kritis terhadap kebijakan pemerintah Orde Baru menjelang Pemilu 1977, bagaimana reaksi masyarakat Banten atas penangkapan Abuya Dimyati pada 14 Maret 1977. Tujuan penelitian yaitu: menjelaskan sikap Abuya Dimyati terhadap perubahan politik dan sikap kritis beliau yang mengambil sikap berbeda dengan penguasa Pemerintah Orde Baru pada Pemilu 1977, serta menjelaskan reaksi masyarakat Banten atas penangkapan Abuya Dimyati. Metodologi strukturis yang didasarkan pada teori strukturasi Anthony Giddens digunakan untuk memahami keterkaitan antara struktur dan manusia agency dengan mengacu kepada konsep: gerakan tarekat, gerakan sosial-keagamaan, hubungan doktrin dengan perilaku politik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pemerintah Orde Baru berupaya mempertahankan kemenangan Pemilu 1971 dengan melakukan kebijakan fusi partai politik pada 1973 dan memaksa masyakat dengan cara intimidasi untuk memilih partai pemerintah pada Pemilu 1977. Rangkaian peristiwa fusi dan intimidasi menjelang Pemilu 1977 membuat Abuya Dimyati menasihati masyarakat agar tidak mau dipaksa oleh Pemerintah Orde Baru. Dalam kaitan ini Abuya Dimyati, berperan sebagai kiai dan juga Culture Broker, yang mampu menerjemahkan situasi sosial politik yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat. Kondisi ini memperlihatkan ulama atau kiai menduduki posisi kunci dalam struktur kebudayaan masyarakat Banten.

ABSTRACTThe focus of this study is Abuya Dimyati 39 s attitude toward political shift in the 1977 Election. The study questions why Abuya Dimyati took a critical stand against the New Order government 39 s policies prior to the 1977 Election, how the People of Banten reacted to Abuya Dimyati 39 s arrest on 14 March 1977. The purpouse of the study is to explain the attitude of Abuya Dimyati against the political shift and why he took a stand opposing the New Order government 39 s policies before the 1977 Election, and to explain the reaction of Banten rsquo s Community when Abuya Dimyati was arrested. The structural method, based on the structural theory of Anthony Giddens is used to understand the relationship between structure and human agency by referring to the concepts of the tarekat movement, the social religious movement, and the doctrinal relationship with political behaviour. The result of this study shows that the New Order government attempted to defend their victory in the 1971 Election by implementing the policy of polical parties rsquo fusion in 1973 and forced the community by way of intimidation to vote for the government party in the 1977 Election. Series of events related with the fusion and intimidation prior to 1977 election attempted Abu Dimyati to advise the people not to be intimidated by the New Order government. In this regard, Abu Dimyati acted as a Kiai and a Culture Broker, who could translate the social political situation needed by the society. This condition shows that Ulema or Kiai holds an important position in the cultural structure of Banten rsquo s society. "
