Masyarakat Belanda mengenal adanya buku-buku anak berseri. Salah satu buku berseri yang terbit di Belanda adalah buku Sam, Beer, dan Pip karya Francine Oomen. Buku berseri itu memiliki tokoh utama sekaligus pencerita, tokoh Sam dalam Het Zwanen Meer (mda) dan tokoh Beer dalam Het Boek van Beer. Analisis terhadap karya Francine Oomen Het Zwanen Meer (maar dan anders) dan Het Boek van Beer bertujuan menemukan kekhasan cerita pada masingmasing buku, dengan melihat hubungan gaya pencerita dan karakter tokoh utama. Pada akhir penelitian ditemukan bahwa karakter tokoh utama tercermin kembali dalam penceritaan melalui unsur-unsur dalam stilistika antara lain humor dan ilustrasi.

People in Holland has known about the children serial book. One of serial books which has been published in Holland is the serial of Sam, Beer and Pip. These books are written by Francine Oomen. Sam is the main character and the storyteller in Het Zwanen Meer (maar dan anders) and Beer is the main character and the storyteller in Het Boek van Beer. The purpose of the characters analysis in Francine Oomen?s books is to show the unique side from each characters. The relation between the style of the storyteller and the character is the way to find out the purpose. At the end of this analysis, there is a conclusion of the characters which are showed again from the storytelling style by which humor and illustrations.
