Abstrak :
Photoacoustic measurement in an imaging system is a unique method as it uses optical disturbance but observes its effect acoustically. Acoustical observation increases the quality of a measurement by reducing the scattering effect that often occurs in optical research. However, a few problems, such as cost and complexity, hinder development of a photoacoustic system. This report presents a design of a photoacoustic system using a laser diode and a commercial microphone as the acoustic emission source and sensor, respectively. Analysis of the photoacoustic signal received by the microphone was performed with software-based Fourier transformation, which makes the photoacoustic system simpler and lower in cost. By measuring the amplitude of the signal, the system accurately detects surface micrometer cracks. The report shows that the system is capable of producing a photoacoustic image of an object with micro-cracks on its surface. The results indicate that the photoacoustic imaging system developed in the experiment is a more promising way to generate images of cracks than optical imaging

ABSTRAK Salah satu pemanfaatan listrik yang dapat memberi dampak signifikan dalam kegiatan produktif adalah industri logam. Pada industri logam yang diaplikasikan melalui sistem peleburan material bukan saja memberikan kemudahan dalam proses produksi, tetapi juga keramahan terhadap lingkungan yang membuat beberapa perusahaan logam beralih menggunakan teknologi induction furnace. Pada umumnya, coreless furnace bekerja pada frekuensi dari 60 hingga 10.000 cycle. Hal ini dapat membangkitkan disturbansi pada furnace di rentang frekuensi 9-150 kHz. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik disturbance pada frekuensi 9 kHz-150 kHz di Plant 3 PT. Bakrie Autoparts. Pengukuran dilakukan di sisi keluaran sekunder transformator. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran, dapat diketahui bahwa nilai disturbance, frekunesi dan tegangan berbanding lurus terhadap perubahan beban.
ABSTRACT One of the electrical utilization which give significant effect in productive activities is metal industry. In metal industry that is applicated by material smelting system not only giving production process easily, but also environment friendly which make many metal companies change over using induction furnace technology. Basically, coreless furnace works in frequency from 60 to 10.000 cycles. It can generate disturbance in furnace with range on the 9-150Khz frequency. Therefore, this research is done for knowing the characteristics of disturbances on the 9-150Khz frequency on the electrical furnace system located at Plant 3 PT. Bakrie Autoparts. Measurement is done on the output secondary side of transformator. Based on the measurement results, we can conclude that the disturbance, frequency and voltage produced directly proportional toward changing load.
