Abstrak :
Nowadays electronic mail (e-mail) is a communication tool that is often used in everyday life. One of the utilizations of e-mail is used in practical purposes such as making a request. This paper provided views on linguistic politeness in submitting an e-mail containing the request based on e-mail data written by native speakers of Japanese (J) and the Indonesian Japanese language learners (IJL). The data was analyzed using the theory of politeness expressed by Brown and Levinson. This paper focused on the strategy that what more likely was to be used by J and IJL in the expression of request. In the final part, it concluded the view about what should be considered in connection with the linguistic politeness in Japanese e-mail containing request. It was intended for learners of foreign language, especially Indonesian people, to know the limitation of politeness, so that IJL will not repeat the same mistakes in the future.

Gejala penguatan seni-budaya di berbagai masyarakat desa di Indonesia mengundang pertanyaan tentang konteks desentralisasi dan otonomi desa yang melatarbelakanginya dan siapa aktor yang menggerakkan. Artikel ini menggambarkan bahwa desentralisasi dan otonomi desa memberikan kontribusi terhadap penguatan seni-budaya lokal. Di tingkat desa penguatan seni-budaya tersebut diakukan oleh para pemimpin formal, pemimpin informal dan warga sebagai upaya mewujudkan desa wisata berbasis pada potensi lokal. Namun demikian, masing-masing pihak tersebut memberikan kontribusi sesuai dengan kapasitas dan kepentingan politik dan ekonomi yang berlainan

Abstrak :
This is a study of cultural values of Sumbawa ethics community in Lombok. The study is conducted by studying ama samawa (samawa proverb). The study is aimed at revealing a form and cultural values in Ama Samawa among sumbawa ethics community in Lombok. In this study. Ethno linguistics method is applied and data is collected through observation and interview withthe primary informats from Rempung and Kuang berora village. The analysis result shows that there is a correlation between the content of Ama Sumawa and the cultural values of its speakers. The cultural values in Ama Samawa are classified based on their semantic meaning or information. As a conclusion, the relationship between human being and life bearing on values of wisdom, desire and feeling
