Abstrak :
[This book summarizes the current knowledge of software testing and introduces three current research approaches. The base of knowledge is presented comprehensively in scope but concise in length; thereby the volume can be used as a reference. Research is highlighted from different points of view. Firstly, progress on developing a tool for automated test case generation (TCG) based on a program’s structure is introduced. Secondly, results from a project with industry partners on testing best practices are highlighted. Abstrak :
Cloud computing offers the use of virtualized hardware, effectively unlimited storage, and software services that can help reduce the execution time of large test suites in a cost-effective manner. The research presented by Tilley and Parveen leverages the resources provided by cloud computing infrastructure to facilitate the concurrent execution of test cases. They introduce a decision framework called SMART-T to support migration of software testing to the cloud, a distributed environment called HadoopUnit for the concurrent execution of test cases in the cloud, and a series of case studies illustrating the use of the framework and the environment. Experimental results indicate a significant reduction in test execution time is possible when compared with a typical sequential environment.

Selama beberapa tahun terakhir, kompleksitas perangkat lunak yang berkembang berlipat ganda dan diperparah oleh perluasan dalam cakupan, ukuran dan cakupan teknologi menyebabkan peningkatan kompleksitas dalam siklus hidup pengujian. Hal ini memicu organisasi yang bergerak pada bidang teknologi informasi menyadari pentingnya pertumbuhan pengujian perangkat lunak dalam ekosistem pengembangan perangkat lunak secara keseluruhan. Oleh karena itu, organisasi memperkuat proses pengujian dalam upaya meningkatan kualitas perangkat lunak yang disajikan kepada pelanggan. Test Maturity Model integration TMMi merupakan salah satu kerangka kerja test process improvement berbasis model yang ditujukan untuk peningkatan berkelanjutan terhadap keefektifan dan efisiensi proses pengujian dalam keseluruhan proses pada perangkat lunak. Penggunaan TMMi dengan assessment dijalankan berdasarkan panduan yang ditetapkan pada TMMi Assessment Method Application Requirements TAMAR. Fakta dan kajian pada proses pengujian perangkat lunak saat ini yang dianalisis memperlihatkan kekuatan dan kelemahan pada setiap area dan menghasilkan tingkat kematangan.Hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan melalui assessment dengan TMMi menunjukkan bahwa proses pengujian pada PT. AS berada pada tingkat kematangan TMMi Level 2. Selanjutnya dalam mendapatkan proses area yang diajukan sebagai fokus penyusunan rekomendasi, penulis melakukan pengurutan prioritas dengan prioritazion matrix terhadap kategori manfaat dan tiga proses area yang memiliki nilai terendah dari proses area lain. Proses pengurutan prioritas menghasilkan PA 3.3 Test Lifecycle and Integration dengan nilai prioritas paling tinggi. Penyusunan rekomendasi pada PT. AS dilakukan menggunakan deming cycle.

Over the past few years, the complexity of software which multiplied and aggravated by expansion in the scope, size and coverage of technology cause to increased complexity in the test life cycle. This provoke the organizations which engaged in the field of information technology realize the importance of software testing growth in the overall software development lifecycle. Therefore, organizations are reinforce the testing process in effort to improve the quality of software delivered to customers. Test Maturity Model integration TMMi is one of the model-based test process improvement frameworks aimed at continuous improvements to the effectiveness and efficiency of the testing process in the overall software process. The use of TMMi with assessment is carried out according to the guidelines set forth in the TMMi Assessment Method Application Requirements TAMAR . Facts and studies on the current software testing process analyzed show strengths and weaknesses in each area and result in a level of maturity.The evaluation results through assessment with TMMi prove that testing process in PT. AS is at TMMi maturity level 2. Furthermore to acquire the process area as the focus of the recommendations, the author performs priority ranking with prioritazion matrix against defined categories and three process areas which have the lowest value among others. The priority ranking process obtain PA 3.3 Test Lifecycle and Integration with the highest priority value. Finally, the author construct the recommendations to PT. AS with deming cycle.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Second International Conference on Runtime Verification, RV 2011, held in San Francisco, USA, in September 2011. The 24 revised full papers presented together with 3 invited papers, 4 tutorials and 4 tool demonstrations were carefully reviewed and selected from 71 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on parallelism and deadlocks, malware detection, temporal constraints and concurrency bugs, sampling and specification conformance, real-time, software and hardware systems, memory transactions, tools; foundational techniques and multi-valued approaches.

The 9 revised full papers presented together with 2 invited papers, 4 short papers and one tutorial were carefully reviewed and selected from 29 submissions. The papers are devoted to the convergence of tests and proofs for developing novel techniques and application that support engineers in building secure, safe, and reliable systems. Among the topics covered are model-based testing; scenario-based testing; complex data structure generation; and the validation of protocols and libraries.
