Abstrak :
Tesis Ini Membahas tentang pemaknaan tanda-tanda pada sebuah film berjudul My Name is Khan yang diyakini oleh penulis memiliki kode oposisi terhadap pandangan dominan mengenai Islam di dunia Barat. Namun tidak sesederhana itu karena produksi film ini tidak memuat kepentingan umat muslim belaka. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode semiotik. Hasil penelitian akhirnya menyimpulkan jika film ini memang memiliki tujuan resistensi tersebut, berdasarkan kajian denotasi, konotasi, mitos dan ideologi terhadap teks film dan menjawab mengenai bentuk resistensi dikaitkan dengan tataran makro. Film ini memberikan contoh upaya resistensi kepada kekuatan yang lebih mendominasi. Penguraian kandungan makna di dalamnya bisa dijadikan contoh bagi kelompokkelompok tertekan oleh kekuatan dominan apapun, untuk membentuk sebuah upaya resistensi melalui film.

This thesis discusses the definition of the signs on a film titled My Name is Khan is believed to be by the author have a code of opposition to the dominant view about Islam in the Western world. But it's not that simple because the production of this film does not include the interests of Muslims. This research is a qualitative research method semiotik. Research results finally conclude if this film does have a purpose of such resistance, based on the study of the connotations of, denoted, myth and ideology to the text of the film and answer regarding the forms of resistance is linked to the macro level. The Film gives an example of an effort to force more resistance dominates. Parsing the meaning of the content in it could be made an example for groups pressured by any dominant powers, to form a resistance efforts through the film.

Abstrak :
Skripsi ini membahas mengenai pengaruh Gereja Santa Maria de Fatima pada masyarakat Cina di Glodok tahun 1955-1970. Skripsi ini memperlihatkan inkulturasi (pendekatan budaya) sebagai metode evangelisasi (penginjilan). Gereja Santa Maria de Fatima yang berdiri di tengah masyarakat Cina di Glodok,sangat identik dengan budaya Cina Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah. Dari penelitian ini, ditemukan bahwa pengaruh Gereja Santa Maria de Fatima terhadap masyarakat Cina di Glodok meliputi, Pertama, Bidang religi yang tampak pada perubahan agama masyarakat Glodok dari agama tradisional menjadi Katolik. Kedua, Bidang budaya yaitu adanya inkulturasi budaya yang tampak dalam gereja berupa arsitektur, prosesi ibadah dan penggunaan alat-alat budaya. Ketiga, Pengaruh dalam bidang sosial yang tampak pada kegiatan-kegiatan sosial berupa bantuan dana, kesehatan dan beasiswa pendidikan yang diselenggarakan gereja dan yayasan sosial gereja bagi masyarakat Glodok yang membutuhkan. Ketiga, Pengaruh dalam bidang pendidikan yang tampak dalam Sekolah Ricci yang terbuka bagi masyarakat Glodok yang memiliki visi mencerdaskan generasi muda dan meningkatkan kehidupan religius.

This thesis discusses about the influences of the Church of Santa Maria de Fatima in the Chinese community in Glodok. Years of discussion this thesis was started in 1955 to 1970. This thesis shows enculturation (cultural approach) as a method of evangelism. The Church of Santa Maria de Fatima had synonymous with Chinese culture that was standing in the middle of Chinese Community in Glodok. This research method used a historical method. The influences of the Church of Santa Maria de Fatima to Chinese Community was found from this study. The influences were, First, the religious field that look at changed in Chinese religious traditionally to Catholic. Second, the cultural field that looks at the culture, processions and using of cultural tools. Third, Influences in the social and education form such as, activities social which was organized by church and charity for Glodok society which required. Then, Influence in the field of education that the Ricci School opened to Glodok society and had the vision to educate the younger generation and improve the religious life.

Penulis ingin melihat dan memetakan peran Syekh Maulana Hizboel Wathony pada strategi komunikasi dakwah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat Syekh Maulana Hizboel Wathony sebagai seorang dai yang potensial dan berperan dalam mengembangkan ajaran Islam khususnya tasawuf di Indonesia melalui kegiatan komunikasi dakwah. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif, dengan model penjelasan deskriptif-analitis yang berupaya menggambarkan peran Syekh Maulana Hizboel Wathony dalam kegiatan komunikasi dakwah dan berperan aktif dalam mengembangkan ajaran Islam khususnya tasawuf di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Syekh Maulana Hizboel Wathony memiliki kontribusi aktif, khususnya dalam kegiatan komunikasi dakwah dengan menggunakan media sehingga pesan dakwah langsung kepada masyarakat di Indonesia. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ajaran Islam khususnya tasawuf dapat ditanamkan dan diterapkan dengan baik di kalangan masyarakat. Maka tujuan dakwah dapat tercapai sesuai dengan Al Quran dan Hadis.

This research looked at and mapped out the role of Syekh Maulana Hizboel Wathony Strategy Communication Dakwah. This research aims to look at the Syekh Maulana Hizboel Wathony potential as a religious teacher and his role in developing the Islamic teachings, especially Sufism in Indonesia on Strategy Communication Dakwah. This research is a qualitative study, with descriptive-analytic models of explanations that seek to describe the role of Syekh Maulana Hizboel Wathony in communication the Religious Dakwah activities and play an active role in the development of Islam Indonesia. This research concluded that Syekh Maulana Hizboel Wathony have an active contribution, especially in religious dakwah communication, and the message directly to the people of Indonesia. Furthermore, this research shows that the Islamic teachings, especially Sufism can be embedded and applied properly in Indonesian society.
