Float merupakan komponen pada pesawat amfibi yang berfungsi sebagai bagian yang memberikan gaya apung pada pesawat ketika berada di permukaan air. Agar pesawat amfibi dapat lepas landas dengan jarak yang minimum, float harus didesain seoptimal mungkin untuk mendapatkan hasil hambatan total yang kecil. Oleh karena itu, biomimikri terhadap ikan layar digunakan dalam merancang float dengan harapan hambatan yang dihasilkan oleh float dapat berkurang mengikuti karakteristik ikan layar. Jarak melintang antar float yang terdapat pada nilai clearance (S/L) juga merupakan factor yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap hambatan total yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan nilai clearance yang optimal untuk diterapkan pada jarak antar float hasil adaptasi ikan layar agar mendapatkan hambatan total air yang minimum. Pengujian dilakukan secara numerik dengan simulasi CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) menggunakan perangkat lunak ANSYS Fluent dengan Froude Number dari 0,40 hingga 0,70 dengan interval 0,05 dan variasi clearance sebesar 0.20, 0.25, 0.30, 0.35, 0.40 dan 0,45. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan pengaruh besar clearance dalam mereduksi hambatan total float. Koefisien hambatan terkecil terjadi pada clearance 0,45 sedangkan koefisien hambatan terbesar terjadi pada clearance 0,2 ......Float is a component of a seaplane that functions as a part that provides buoyancy to the aircraft when it is on the water surface. In order for the seaplane to take off with a minimum distance, the float must be designed as optimal as possible to obtain a small total drag. Therefore, biomimicry of sailfish used in designing floats in the hope that the resistance generated by the float can be reduced following the characteristics of sailfish. The transverse distance between floats contained in the clearance value (S / L) is also a factor that significantly influences the resulting total resistance. This study aims to obtain the optimal clearance value to be applied to the distance between floats adapted by sailfish in order to obtain a minimum total water resistance. The test was carried out numerically with a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation using ANSYS Fluent software with a Froude Number from 0.40 to 0.70 with an interval of 0.05 and a clearance variation of 0.20, 0.25, 0.30, 0.35, 0.40 and 0.45. The results showed the large effect of clearance in reducing total float resistance. The smallest resistance coefficient occurs at a clearance of 0.45, while the largest coefficient of resistance occurs at a clearance of 0.2

[Penggunaan kapal katamaran atau multihull sebagai moda transportasi baik sungai maupun laut telah berkembang secara pesat belakangan ini. Drewry Shipping Consultant (1997) menyatakan bahwa angkutan penumpang atau high speed ferry merupakan salah satu aplikasi kapal katamaran yang paling sering digunakan. Akan tetapi terdapat beberapa hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam perancangan kapal katamaran, diantaranya keakurasian dalam mengestimasi hambatan. Hambatan merupakan faktor penting saat perancangan suatu kapal karena berhubungan dengan perhitungan daya mesin induk kapal, biaya operasional kapal dan konsumsi bahan bakar. Dalam tugas akhir ini akan dijelaskan mengenai penurunan nilai hambatan yang diakibatkan oleh konfigurasi membujur (R/L) pada demihull kapal katamaran. Metode eksperimen (towing tank) dan numerik (HullSpeed-MaxsurfPro 11.12) dilakukan dalam penelitian dengan variasi kecepatan pada angka Froude 0.1 -1.0. Dari hasil kedua metode menunjukkan bahwa metode eksperimen menghasilkan nilai lebih besar khususnya pada Fn < 0.5. Sedangkan analisa konfigurasi lambung secara membujur (staggered) memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penurunan hambatan. Semakin besar nilai R/L, maka semakin kecil nilai hambatan yang dihasilkan. Penurunan nilai hambatan di setiap kenaikan nilai R/L (R/L 0.0 ; 0.2 ; 0.3) adalah 5.5% untuk S/L 0.2 ; 6.65% untuk S/L 0.3 dan 5.6 % untuk S/L 0.4., The use of catamaran or multihull boats as sea transport has been growing rapidly lately. Drewry Shipping Consultants (1997) stated that the transportation of passengers or high speed ferry boat is one of the applications most frequently used catamarans. However, there are some things that should to consider in the design of catamaran vessels, including the accuracy in resistance estimation. Resistance is an important factor when designing a ship because it deals with the calculation of main engine power of vessels, vessel operating costs and fuel consumption. In this thesis would explain the decrease in resistance value caused by the longitudinal configuration (R / L) on demihull catamaran vessel. Experimental method (towing tank) and numerical (HullSpeed-MaxsurfPro 11:12) conducted the study with the velocity variations in the Froude number 0.1 -1.0. From the results of both methods showed that the experimental method produces greater value partially Fn < 0.5. While the analysis of a longitudinal hull configuration (staggered) have a significant influence on reducing the resistance. The greater the value of R / L, the smaller the resulting resistance values. Decline in the value of resistance in any increase in the value of R / L (R / L 0.0: 0.2: 0.3) is 5.5% for the S / L 0.2 ; 6.65% for the S / L 0.3 and 5.595% for the S / L 0.4.]

Catamaran resistance is very complex compared to monohull resistance, so it is particularly worthy of research. The below-water-level hull form influences the fluid flow characteristics around the ship, which either increases or decreases the total resistance. This study focuses on developing a new hull form by using the Lackenby Method to modify an existing hull form in such a way that reduces the total resistance. The total resistance was calculated using computational fluid dynamics, since the Navier-Stokes equation is built into the Tdyn software. The research results show that hull form changes can in fact decrease or increase the ship’s total resistance. The best new hull form was chosen for its value of least total resistance.

Kapal Multihull mampu menjadi salah satu solusi dan skripsi ini membahas kapal model pentamaran dengan variasi jarak lambung dan lambung asimetrik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan konfigurasi dengan hambatan dan Faktor Interferensi terendah sehingga dapat meningkatkan efisiensi bahan bakar. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen berupa uji Tarik pada kapal model pentamaran di kolam uji dengan kondisi air tenang pada Fr = 0.55 ndash; 1. The thesis performed with the experimental method to test pentamaran ship rsquo s model in experiment pool with calm water condition on Fr 0.55 ndash 1. The results show there are no configuration on the lower resistance for all speed.

Kapal Pentamaran adalah hasil pengembangan dari kapal multi hull catamaran, trimaran dan quadramaran. Kapal Pentamaran mempunyai keunggulan yaitu hambatan yang lebih kecil dalam kecepatan yang tinggi dibandingkan dengan kapal satu lambung mono hull sehingga dapat lebih efisien dalam mengkonsumsi bahan bakar, waktu, dan biaya operasionalnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi kecepatan dan peletakan lambung asimetris inboard sisi streamline menghadap ke arah mainhull dan outboard sisi streamline menghadap ke arah berlawanan dengan mainhull terhadap hambatan total kapal. Penelitian dilakukan dengan eksperimen uji tarik pada kapal model pentamaran pada kolam uji dan kondisi air tenang. Eksperimen ini dilakukan pada rentang Fr : 0.55 ndash; 1. Hasil dari eksperimen menunjukan bahwa konfigurasi S/L 0.22 pada rentang Fr : 0.55 ndash; 1 memiliki koefisien hambatan total Ct yang efektif. Konfigurasi yang mempunyai koefisien hambatan total Ct dan Factor Interferensi IF paling rendah terletak pada konfigurasi Asymmetric Inboard Outterhull Position dengan S/L = 0.22 pada sepertiga awal rentang Fr = 0.55 ndash; 1. ......Pentamaran ship is the result of development from the ship and trimaran multihull catamarans, quadramaran. Pentamaran ship has benefits such as smaller resistance in high speed compared with the mono hull so that it can be more efficient in fuel consumption, time and operational costs. This research aims to find out the influence of the variation of the speed and the placement of the asymmetric inboard hull streamlines side facing toward the mainhull and outboard streamlines side facing the opposite direction with the mainhull against total ships resistance. The research done with experiment test pull on the ship pentamaran model on the watertank with conditions calm water. The experiment was conducted on a range of Fr 0.55 1. The result of the experiment shows that the configuration of S L 0.22 on a range of Fr 0.55 1 have coefficient total resistance Ct which effectively. The configuration has a coefficient total resistance Ct and Factor Interference IF most low located on the configuration of the Asymmetric Inboard Outterhull positions with S L 0.22 on one third of the beginning of a range of Fr 0.55 1.

Pada dewasa ini kapal mempunyai peranan penting dalam perindustrian perkapalan. Perekonomian di dunia menggunakan transportasi kapal sebagai keberlangsungan ekonomi. Kapal multihull mempunyai keunggulan saat kecepatan tinggi. Multihull terdapat 4 major konfigurasi diantaranya Catamaran, Trimaran, quadramaran, dan Pentamaran. Penelitian dari Hambatan Pentamaran sudah diuji dalam eksperimen ini. Dalam kasus ini kapal Pentamaran mepunyai konfigurasi yang bisa mendukung semakin optimalnya nilai hambatan, stabilitas kapal, luasan dek kapal, dan kekuatan konstruksi. Hambatan merupakan simbol dari efisiensi kapal itu sendiri. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan konfigurasi pentamaran dengan nilai hambatan terendah pada kecepatan tinggi dengan rentang Fr 0.39-0.6. Eksperimen dilakukan pada kolam uji dengan permukaan air tenang.
On this ship has an important role in the shipping industry. Economy in the world using the transport ship as the sustainability of the economy. Multihull ships have advantages when at high speed. There are 4 major Multihull configuration such as Catamaran, Trimaran, Quadraman, and Pentamaran. The Research of Drag Reduction Pentamaran already tested. In this case Pentamaran have a configuration that can support optimalization in drag reduction, stability, ship deck area, the power construction. The obstacle is the symbol of the efficienct of the ship itself. The purpose of the research is to get the configuration of the lowest resistance value at high speeds with range Fr 0.39 0.6. The research has done on water tank with waterl level calm.

High speed catamaran and multihull high speed marine vessel have become very popular in the last two decades. The catamaran has become the vessel of choice for the majority of high speed ferry operators worldwide. There have been significant advances in structural materials, and structural design has been combined with higher power density and fuel efficient engines to deliver ferries of increasing size. The multihull has proven itself to be a suitable configuration for active power projection across oceans as well as for coastal patrol and protection, operating at high speedd for insertion or retrieval with a low energy capability. At present there is no easily accessible material covering the combination of hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, and design issues including structures, powering and propulsion for these vehicles. Coverage in High Speed Catamarans and Multihulls includes an introduction to the history, evolution, and development of catamarans, followed by a theoretical calculation of wave resistance in shallow and deep water, as well as the drag components of the multihull. A discussion of vessel concept design describing design characteristics, empirical regression for determination of principal dimensions in preliminary design, general arrangement, and methods is also included. The book concludes with a discussion of experimental future vehicles currently in development including the small waterplane twin hull vessels, wave piercing catamarans, planing catamarans, tunnel planing catamarans and other multihull vessels.
