Dimana dalam sistem R, empat dari lima type dasar itu belum efisien dalam pemrosesan querynya. Pokok pembahasan adalah mentransformasikan empat type dasar nested query kedalaman satu, serta nested query secara umum dan kompleks, ke dalam bentuk query ekivalen kanonikal yaitu query non nested.
