The cities majority in the world especially big cities are have unique character that is to be identity. Dominant building is one of identity of place or city. This building is built for purpose particularly and so are having more qualitative and quantitative value. However the dominant building gives influence to place or object in the neighborhood. In the visual, dominant building or architecture element can be landmark as interesting focus point and contrast on the place and environment. For the city or region, landmark is external element and dominant visual form such as mountain, sky rapper building, high tower, ritual religiosity building and etc. So landmark can be orientation point that helping people for know to place. The Paikhong building existent as place of ritual religiosity at Singkawang city is identity character on urban morphology that having majority population is china people. Almost all of the region with the china people majority such as Singkawang Barat and Singkawang Selatan are found Phaikong building actually. In the general, Paikhong is built at the cross street side and should be identity image of city with china majority inhabitant.

Menurut timeshighereducation.com Curtin University adalah salah satu Universitas berstandar Internasional di dunia. Dengan mottonya Look Ever Forward institusi ini membutuhkan tempat baru untuk mengakomodasi mahasiswa dari seluruh bagain dunia yang jumlahnya terus berkembang dengan tujuan sebagai tempat penelitian dan inovasi. Di skripsi ini tempat yang dimaksud adalah gedung baru Sekolah Lingkungan Buatan. Pertanyaan yang harus ditanyakan sekarang adalah Jenis bangunan seperti apa yang cocok dengan visi dan misi Curtin yaitu untuk melihat terus kedepan Salah satu professor di Curtin University mengusulkan pendekatan desain lipstick deciduous. Pendekatan ini mengusulkan untuk mendesain sesuatu bukan hanya berdasarkan keindahan estetika (desain lipstick) tetapi mendesain dengan pertimbangan ke masa depan agar apa yang di desain bisa menyesuaikan diri dengan perkembangan waktu (desain deciduous). ......According to timeshighereducation com Curtin University is one of the most International Universities in the World. Making Curtin University Look Ever Forward to the future. In this thesis the space is specified as the School of Built Environment new building. Now the question is What kind of building that can reflect and accommodate Curtin Universitys motto which serves as its vision as well, to Look Ever Forward DR Chamila Subasinghe an architecture professor at Curtin University proposed the lipstick-deciduous design method. Instead of designing something that only appealing aesthetically (lipstick design) he proposed the design to be something that can evolve through adaptive use as time goes by to the future (deciduous design).
