Manusia dapat menunjukkan perilaku yang cenderung konservatif ketika dalam keadaan cemas akan kematian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara kecemasan tentang kematian dan konservatisme. Pengukuran kecemasan kematian dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala interval dan konservatisme dengan skala Likert 6 poin. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode survei online terhadap 300 responden yang diperoleh dengan metode accidental sampling. Hasil analisis data dengan korelasi Pearson dari 300 peserta menunjukkan hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kecemasan kematian dan konservatisme. Hasil penelitian ini mendukung konsep sentral TMT tentang pertahanan pandangan dunia budaya dan harga diri. ......Humans can show behavior that tends to be conservative when in a state of anxiety about death. This study aims to examine the relationship between anxiety about death and conservatism. Measurement of death anxiety was carried out using an interval scale and conservatism with a 6-point Likert scale. Data was collected using an online survey method for 300 respondents obtained by the accidental sampling method. The results of data analysis with Pearson correlation of 300 participants showed a significant positive relationship between death anxiety and conservatism. The results of this study support TMT's central concepts of defense of cultural worldviews and self-esteem.

Latar belakang: Gangguan mental emosional menjadi perhatian global bagi kaum dewasa muda, khususnya mahasiswa perguruan tinggi. Gangguan kecemasan merupakan gangguan mental paling umum. Salah satu bentuk dari respons tubuh terhadap kecemasan adalah melakukan kebiasaan abnormal dan biasanya tidak disadari seperti kebiasaan menggigit mukosa pipi, bibir, maupun lidah. Tujuan: Mengetahui gambaran ansietas pada mahasiswa Rumpun Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Indonesia dengan kebiasaan menggigit mukosa mulut. Metode: Studi potong lintang dengan metode voluntary response sampling pada 404 mahasiswa Rumpun Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen kuesioner Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) untuk mengukur tingkat ansietas dan kuesioner mengenai kebiasaan menggigit mukosa mulut. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji komparatif kategorik. Hasil: Dari 404 mahasiswa, sebanyak 185 mahasiswa (45,8%) memiliki kebiasaan menggigit mukosa mulut. Mayoritas mahasiswa yang memiliki kebiasaan menggigit mukosa mulut memiliki tingkat ansietas “parah” (38,4%). Hasil uji Chi-Square menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan bermakna antara tingkat ansietas dan kebiasaan menggigit mukosa mulut (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan: Tingkat ansietas pada mahasiswa Rumpun Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Indonesia yang memiliki kebiasaan menggigit mukosa mulut tergolong parah. ......Background: Mental disorders are global concern for young adults, especially in college students. Anxiety disorders are the most common of mental disorders. One form of the body's response to anxiety is to engage in abnormal and usually unconscious habits such as the habit of biting the mucosa of the cheeks, lips, or tongue. Objective: To determine the level of anxiety of Health Sciences Cluster students in Universitas Indonesia with oral mucosa biting habit. Method: Cross-sectional study using voluntary response sampling method on 404 students of Health Sciences Cluster students in Universitas Indonesia. Data was collected using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) questionnaire instrument to measure the level of anxiety and another questionnaire regarding the oral mucosa biting habit. Data was analyzed using categorical comparative test. Results: 185 out of 404 students (45.8%) had the oral mucosa biting habit. Most students with oral mucosa biting habit had severe level of anxiety (38.4%). Chi-Square test showed that there was a significant relationship between the level of anxiety and oral mucosa biting habit (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The level of anxiety of Health Sciences Cluster students in Universitas Indonesia with oral mucosa biting habit were classified as severe.
