Harga diri adalah evaluasi individu terhadap dirinya sendiri secara positif atau negatif (Santrock, 2003). Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan gambaran pengaruh terapi generalis dan suportif terhadap harga diri rendah pada remaja laki-laki di Panti Sosial Asuhan Anak di Jakarta. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah “ Quasi Experimental Pre-Post Test with “ Control Group”melibatkan remajausia 13 – 20 tahun di 2 panti asuhan berjumlah 34 orang (34 orang kelompok intervensidan 34 orang kelompok kontrol) yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan pengaruh harga diri remaja laki-laki setelah mendapatkan terapi generalis dan suportif dengan kelompok yang mendapatkan terapi generalis (P value>0.05). Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya terapi generalis pada remaja laki-laki yang mengalami harga diri rendah sebelum dilakukan terapi suportif untuk meningkatkan harga diri remaja.

The purpose of this study aims to determine the effect of generalists and supportive therapy for adolescent self esteem in Jakarta. Design use quasi experimental pre test and post test with control group involved 34 adolescents age 13 – 20 years in two orphanages (34 intervention group and 34 control person) selected by purposive sampling. The results showed there was nodifference in the effect of self-esteem of teenage boy safter getting generalists and supportive therapy group who received treatment with generalists (P-value>0.05). The study recommends the need for generalists therapy in adolescent males who have low self-esteem prior to supportive therapy for adolescent self-esteem.
