Abstrak :
Penelitian tentang efektivitas sekolah ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas organisasi pada SD Fransisco Yashinta dan SD Nur Islam sebagai sekolah yang menampung pendidikan untuk anak TKI di daerah perbatasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa SD Fransico Yashinta memenuhi empat dari delapan faktor yang diteliti. Keempat faktor tersebut adalah (1) Perencanaan program sebagai alat untuk mewujudkan visi dan misi SD Fransisco Yashinta; (2) Penerapan kurikulum tingkat satuan pendidikan (KTSP); (3) Tenaga pendidik memenuhi persyaratan kualifikasi akademik dan menyusun kelengkapan administrasi dalam pembelajaran; (4) Budaya dan lingkungan. Perolehan input berupa visi, misi, program kerja, kurikulum, tenaga pendidik, sarana prasarana telah didukung oleh proses budaya positip yang dibangun sehingga keluaran berupa prestasi akademik yang diukur berdasarkan tingkat ketuntasan belajar mencapai 80%. SD Nur Islam memenuhi satu dari delapan faktor yang diamati yaitu partisipasi masyarakat dalam membantu pendanaan dan kebutuhan konsumsi santri. Implementasi terhadap tujuh faktor lainnya masih perlu peningkatan dan dukungan dari lembaga terkait lainnya. Perolehan input lemah sehingga keluaran berupa prestasi akademik yang diukur dari tingkat ketuntasan belajar hanya mencapai 20%. Untuk meningkatkan efektivitas sekolah pada kedua lembaga tersebut perlu adanya pembinaan dan mediasi dari Dinas Pendidikan juga lembaga lainnya.
The Research on the school effectiveness uses a qualitative approach and aims to analyze organizational effectiveness at the SD Francisco Yashinta and SD Nur Islam as the schools that accommodate TKI children education in the border area. Results showed that SD Francisco Yashinta meets four of the eight factors studied. These four factors are; (1) Program planning as a tool to achieve the SD Francisco Yashinta?s vision and mission; (2) Implementation unit level education curriculum (KTSP); (3) Teachers meet the requirements of academic qualifications and arrange paperwork in the learning; (4) Culture and Environment. Obtaining inputs in the form of vision, mission, programs, curricula, teaching staff, facilities and infrastructure has been supported by the positive culture that was built so that the output of academic achievement as measured from the mastery learning levels reached 80%. SD Nur Islam meets one of the eight factors measured were community participation in assisting the financing and consumption needs of students. Implementation of the seven other factors still need improvement and support from other relevant agencies. Obtaining inputs are so weak that output in the form of academic achievement as measured from the level of mastery learning only reached 20%. To improve the effectiveness of school at both institutions need guidance and mediation from the Education Department and other institutions.

This book reviews some of the major policy shifts in the education sector, analysing selected case study policies in order to articulate dominant discourses in recent policy-making which have helped establish a particular hegemony. The book?s originality lies in its policy analysis and case study base, whereby key policy texts across different sectors are dissected using the 'policy cycle' framework, allowing for an in depth analysis of the policy discourse as well as a discussion on how the neoliberal agenda was reflected and /or promoted. The book seeks to demonstrate that education as a sector is a much broader field and therefore the areas covered include key policies in citizenship and youth work, widening participation in higher education, the place of inclusive education in the curriculum, the undergraduate medical curriculum, and the effect of the Cox review on creativity.
