"Merbau (Intsia bijuga) has high economic value as a source of timber, and its bark and leaves are used in traditional medicines. The survival of this species is threatened in its natural habitat. So, action has been undertaken to support its survival and to upgrade its conservation status by ex situ propagation of seedlings, and by re-planting seedlings in their natural habitat. Nevertheless, the conservation status of merbau is still threarened."

"Psophocarpus scandens (Endl.0 Verdc. is a member of a small genus of leguminous plants that includes the vegetable crop, winged bean. Some plants of P. scandens, an endemic of tropical Africa, were recently found growing uncultivated in site XIX.P within Bogor Botanic Gardens. It is possible these plants are descendants from experements carried out iin the Gardens in the 1970s, or even possible from original plants recorded in Bogor as early as 1842. This plants has trifoliate leaves and attractive blue butterfly-like flowers, smaller in size that the domesticated winged bean. Its small winged pods are a popular bush food in Africa, but unlike the domesticated winged bean, P. scandens has the potential to be weedy. At times, it has been used as a leguminous cover crop in the plantation industry."

"Gonatopus boivinii (Decne.) Engl., or 'Giraffe's Knees', is a unique plant belonging to the araceae family. The genus Gonatopus comprises five species, all of which are endemic to tropical and subtropical south eastern Africa. Amongst the species, G. boivinii is held in the collections of many botanical gardens in the world including the Bogor Botanic Gardens, Indonesia. Gonatopus ids often mistakenly named as an Amorphophallus species, due to the close similarities in appearance of the leaf of the two genera. G. boivinii was at one time recorded in the collection of the Bogor Botanic Gardens, having been documented in the garden's cataloque for the year 1930 and 1957 as planted in location Vak 11.B. VIII.152. Subsequently, the apparent loss of the species had been uncertain until recently, when G. boivinii was again found growing in another location, in Kenari Avenue 1, I.E. IN vak Z of the Gardens. The finding of the species has been reported to the Garden Registration. It is registered as a spontaneous in the garden's collection."

"Filing is a system that includes various subsystems interrelated, interdependent and organized into a single unit to achieve a purpose. The management of electronic records at the Center into a single unit to achieve a purpose. The management of electronic records at the Center of Plant Conservation Botanic Gardens - LIPI still encounters many challenges, for instance lack of human resources, infrastructure and facilities. The problem is how to improve the capability of the electronic archive resource so as to improve the efficiency of administering research at the Center for Plant Conservation Botanic Gardens - LIPI. Archival information is needed by structural and functionbal authorities, and others, to support and improve the quality and efficiency of activities in the administrative framework. The activities include the electronic filing of information, capacity building in the archival system, documentation, and supporting procedures, and also the implementation of quality information technology."

"Due to potential impact of invasive alien (exotic) species to the natural ecosystem, inventory of exotic species in the Cibodas Botanic Gardens (CBG) remnant forest area is an urgent need for CBG. Inventory of exotic species can assist gardens manager to set priorities and plan better responses for possible or existed invasive plants in the CBG remnants forest. the objectives of this study are to do inventory of the exotic species in the CBG remnants forest and to determine whether several environmental variables play role to the existence of exotic species in the CBG remnant forests. there are 26 exotic plant species (23 genera, 14 families) found and recorded from all four remnant forests in CBG. cluster analysis of four environmental variables shows that clustering of environmental factors of exotic species correlates with the abundances of those exotic signify the role of environmental variables on the existence of exotic plant species. the information of exotic plant species in the remnants forest is the base information for gardens manager to manage exotic species in CBG remnants forest. the relation of several environmental factors with exotic species abundance could assist gardens manager to understand better the supportive and or suppressor factors of exotics in the CBG remnants forest. further study on these species is needed to set priorities to decide which species should be treated first in order to minimize the impact of exotic plant species to native ecosystem of CBG."
