"ABSTRAKThe research examines the intensity of market competition and budget emphasis on the relationship between budgetary participation and slack. Forty four managers from hotel industry in Jakarta had participated in the research. The collecting data employed used a questionnaire survey via electronic-mail. Data were analyzed using a two-way analysis of variance. The results showed that the relationship between budgetary participation and slack were dependent on the intensity of market competition and budget emphasis. Under low levels of the intensity of market competition, budgetary participation had a positive effect on budgetary slack, but under high levels it had a negative effect. The higher budget emphasis, the morepositive was the relationship between budgetary participation and slack."

"ABSTRAKThe background phenomena of this study is the fact that low disclosure practice on the financial reporting. The objectives of the research are to find out empirical evidence of the effect of ownership concentration, firms size, and corporate governance mechanisms on voluntary disclosure. The corporate governance mechanisms of this research are composition of board of commissioner and audit quality. Audit quality were measure by industry specialize audit firm. This study is explanatory research. The samples are on purposive samping method, and in conformity with the following criteria: (a) the annual report ended 31 December 2005; {b) book value of equity is positive. There were 101 manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock ·Exchange. The research hyphotesis were tested using multiple regression analysis. The result of this research show that: (I) ownership concentration has significantly positive influence on voluntary disclosure; (2) firms size has significantly positive influence on voluntary disclosure; (3) composition of board of commissioner has no influence on voluntary disclosure; (4) audit quality, significantly and positivelyinfluenced voluntary disclosure."

"ABSTRAKThe purpose of this research are (I) to give an empirical evidence that performance expectation, effort expectation, social factors, jzt on tasks and conditions which facilitating user will affect the level of interest in usage of information system, and (2) to give an empirical evidence that interest in an usage of information systemwill effect a utilization of the information system. The respondents of the research are employment that using information technology system in finishing its job. Datahas gathered by questionnaires and documentation. Sample total is 50 respondents. The result of research with partial regression indicated that variables of antecedent are namely performance expectation, effort expectation, and conditions which facilitating a utilization of the information system, significantly affect the interest of usage the information system, while social factors and fit to task not significantly effect on interest in usage of information system. The result of research with partial regression indicated that variable of consequence namely interest in usage of information system significantly affect utilization information system."

"ABSTRAKThis study aimed to find the tendency of the existence of fiscal illusion. Local governments do manipulations for not maximalizing their own revenue (Pendapatan Asli Daerah) and increasing expenditures in order to get central government transfer (Dana Alokasi Umum) in a larger amount. The result of this study shows the existence of fiscal illusion after the implementation of local autonomy. Through income measurement analysis, fiscal illusions exist on incomes such as local taxation and indirect taxation. While through expenditure manipulation analysis, fiscal illusions exist on the ratio of national income which is provided by central government to the local government."

"Recently, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) idiom can be easily found in many accounting literatures. It refers to the idea that the firm could not be separated with its environment. CSR is the responsibility of business organization to involve in protecting environment and social welfare. In fact, many firms in Indonesia have already applied the disclosure of CSR, even just in a simple ways. The objective of this research are: (1) to identify the corporate/ firm characteristics including corporate/ firm size, profitability, size of the board of commissioners, and public ownership influences to the depth of CSR disclosure, (2) to determine the impact of CSR disclosure to investor reaction influences in terms of abnormal return and trading volume activity. The sample of this research are 116 firms listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Partial Least Square (PLS) is used to test the hypothesis. Based on data analysis, I find that the firm characteristics, including prf:?file and public ownership have a significant positive influence on CSR disclosure. And also, this research shows that the scope of CSR disclosure has a significant influence on investors reactions."

"ABSTRAKBased on Pecking Order Theory, the objective of this study is to examine the effect of dividend policy, profitabillty, sales growth, and total assets growth towards financial leverage and the effect of financial leverage as an intervening variable towards firm value. The sampling method is purposive sampling method and there are 33 firms that fulfil the criteria. Data are analyzed using path analysis method. The results show that dividend policy and profitability have negative influence on financial leverage, while total assets growth has positive influence on financial leverage. Financial leverage has negative relation on firm value."

"The objective of this research is to examine maximum losses when investor invests on syariah based stock. Markowitz model is used for constructing the optimal portfolio. Value at Risk Model is also used for calculating the expected losses. The research indicates that volatility seems to cluster in a predictable fashion. Therefore the research forecasts variances used exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) model. This research also aims to evaluate whether the EWMA model can predict variances reasonably well. The data used in this research are syariah based stock which had been included in Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) during the year 2005-2006. This research provides that VAR models using an EWMAforecast are good enough for predicting risk. The number of exception of 508 daily datas are only less than 5% or valid at confident level 95%. As benchmark we also use historical method and monte carlo simulation to compare performance of EWMA forecast."
