"Tesis ini membahas tentang pelestarian kearifan lokal yang merupakan bagian dari kebudayaan masyarakat Sulawesi Tenggara yang kini nilai-nilainya mulai terkikis era globalisasi.Museum berperan untuk melestarikan melalui fungsi dasarnya yakni penelitian, preservasi dan komunikasi.Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan new museology yang terus berkembangseiring zaman, melalui tahapan pengumpulan data, analisis data dan pembahasan.Dari hasil penelitian mampu mengidentifikasi bahwa Museum Negeri Provinsi Sulewesi Tenggara dalam menjalankan misinya masih berorientasi pada benda dan belum berorientasi pada warisan budaya tak benda sebagai fokus new museology.Oleh karena itu, diperlukan informasi makna atau nilai-nilai memori kolektif dapat disajikan melalui pameran di Museum Negeri Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara.

This thesis discusses the preservation of local wisdom is a part of the culture of the people of Southeast Sulawesi which now values began to erode the era of globalization. Museum acts to preserve through the basic functions of research, preservation and communication. This research is a qualitative descriptive study new museology approaches that continue to evolve over time, through the stages of data collection, data analysis and discussion. From the results of this study identified that the Museum Negeri Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara still in its missionoriented object-oriented and yet intangible cultural heritage as a focus of new museology.
