ABSTRACT
Although no longer using drugs, former drugs addicts still have some problems such as
relapse and reintegration. This study focus on the existance of community that play an
important role to help their problems. This study is located in community of ex-drugs addict
community Sahabat Rekan Sebaya (SRS) foundation, Kalibata, East Jakarta. This study used
a qualitative method with case-study approach. Data collected through in-depth interviews
and field observation. Informants selected by snowball. The research shows how social
capital works in helping ex-drugs addict problems. The norms of the community as a social
control agent to their relapse prevention. Values and norms of the community taught to
reintegration process. Social network of SRS community help ex-drugs addicts to have a job,
which is an indicator of the successfull reintegration in society. While trust in the SRS
community is very high between members. SRS community has strong bonding capital.
Brigding capital of SRS community also provide opportunities for ex-drugs addicts in
accessing to informal education and directly interact with the society.
