Kabupaten Dairi merupakan kabupaten penghasil kopi terbesar di Sumatera Utara dimana produksi kopi robusta dan arabika sebagai komoditas utama perkebunan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persebaran tanaman kopi sehubungan dengan karakteristiknya. Luas wilayah kesesuaian lahan kopi robusta sebesar 15,09% dan arabika sebesar 36,36% dari luas total Kabupaten Dairi. Wilayah tanaman kopi diperoleh melalui pengolahan citra Landsat dan peta penggunaan tanah yang diverifikasi dengan survei lapang di sepuluh kecamatan penghasil kopi. Melalui analisis spasial deskriptif diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa persebaran kopi robusta lebih cenderung ke arah utara dan arabika lebih cenderung ke arah selatan dari Kabupaten Dairi.

ABSTRACT
Dairi is the largest coffee producer in North Sumatera where robusta and arabica coffee production as the main of the plantation. The purpose of this research is finding out coffee distribution which is related to characteristics of the coffee region. The total area of land suitability for coffee robusta is 15,09% and arabica is 36,36 % from the total area of Dairi. The area coffee plants obtained through image processing of Landsat and landuse map verified by surveys in ten coffee producer districts. Through descriptive analysis, concluded that the spatial distribution of Robusta coffee is more inclined towards the north and arabica is more inclined towards the south of Dairi.
