"Transetosom merupakan vesikel yang dapat meningkatkan penetrasi obat ke dalam kulit, contohnya adalah ekstrak bahan alam. Teh hijau (Camellia sinensis L. Kuntze) merupakan bahan alam yang mengandung katekin sebagai senyawa antioksidan. Transetosom dapat menjerap dan membantu penetrasi senyawa ekstrak daun teh hijau ke dalam kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan formula gel transetosom yang dapat meningkatkan penetrasi ekstrak daun teh hijau ke dalam kulit. Gel yang hanya mengandung ekstrak daun teh hijau juga dibuat sebagai kontrol. Uji penetrasi sediaan secara in vitro dilakukan menggunakan sel difusi Franz dengan kulit tikus betina galur Sprague Dawley. Epigalokatekin galat (EGCG) digunakan sebagai penanda analisis. Transetosom dibuat dengan metode hidrasi lapis tipis dalam tiga formula yaitu dengan konsentrasi ekstrak daun teh hijau setara dengan EGCG 1% (F1), 1,5% (F2), dan 2% (F3). Hasil menunjukkan transetosom F1 memiliki karakteristik terbaik yaitu berbentuk sferis, Dmean volume 112,14 ± 2,19 nm, indeks polidispersitas 0,163 ± 0,03, potensial zeta -52,05 ± 1,34 mV, dan efisiensi penjerapan 58,06 ± 0,08%. Gel transetosom dan gel kontrol secara berturut-turut memiliki fluks sebesar 61,468 ± 1,66 μg.cm-2.jam-1 dan 31,694 ± 1,02 μg.cm-2.jam-1. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa transetosom dapat meningkatkan penetrasi ekstrak daun teh hijau ke dalam kulit.

Transethosome is a vesicle that can enhance drug?s penetration into the skin, for example are extracts of natural ingredient. Green tea (Camellia sinensis L. Kuntze) is a natural ingredient that contains catechins as an antioxidant. Transethosome is used to entrap the chemical compounds of green tea leaves extract and help their penetration into the skin. The aims of this study are to produce transethosome gel formula that can increase the penetration of green tea leaves extract into the skin. Gel containing only green tea leaves extract was also made as a control. Penetration test of gels performed using in vitro Franz diffusion cell with the skin of female Sprague Dawley rats. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is used as a marker analysis.

Transethosome were made by using thin layer hydration method in three formulas with different concentration of green tea leaves extract which were equivalent to 1% (F1), 1.5% (F2), and 2% (F3) EGCG. The results showed transethosome F1 had the best characteristics, which had a spherical shape, Dmean volume 112,14 ± 2,19 nm, polydispersity index 0,166 ± 0,03, zeta potential -52,05 ± 1,34 mV, and entrapment efficiency 58,06 ± 0,08%. Transethosome gel and control gel had a flux of 61,468 ± 1,66 μg.cm-2.hour-1 and 31,694 ± 1,02 μg.cm-2.hour-1. It can be concluded that transethosome can increase green tea leaves extract penetration into the skin."
