Abstrak :
Teks dan pembaca: Konstruksi tubuh, hasrat, dan relasi seksual perempuan dalam fitur majalah Popular. 145 halaman (termasuk daftar pustaka) + lampiran + halaman pengesahan + kata pengantar + abstract + abstrak + daftar isi + daftar tabel + daftar grafik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi seksualitas perempuan dalam fitur majalah Popular dan pemaknaan pembaca terhadap seksualitas perempuan yang terepresentasi dalarn fitur tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis semiotika dan studi etnografis. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada pembaca majalah Popular adalah Focus Grow.) Discussion dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teks merepresentasi seksualitas perempuan sebagai objek yaitu objek fantasi seks dan objek pengaturan tubuh perempuan yang ditujukan untuk kepuasan laki-laki. Meskipun demikiarr, filur yang berformat wawancara memungkinkan suara perempuan hadir dan meresistensi objektifikasi tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembaca umumnya terhegemoni ideologi objektifikasi tubuh perempuan. Pembaca yang bernegosiasi terhadap objektifikasi tubuh perempuan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh latar belakangnya yang memiliki istri yang mampu berperan sebagai subjek dalam relasi seks.

Text and readers: The contraction of women's body, desire, and sexual relationship in the features of Popular magazine. 145 pages (including bibliography) + appendices + approval page + foreword + abstract (English and Indonesia) + table of contents + lists of tables + lists of graphics. The objectives of this research are to show (a) the representation of 'women sexuality in the features of Popular magazine and (b) the readers' meaning toward the representation. This research used qualitative approach that combined semiotics and ethnography, Focus group discussion and in-depth interview were carried out to collect data from the readers. Research findings showed that text represents women sexuality as an object: as sexual fantasy object and object of regulation in order to gain men's sexual pleasure. However, the interview format features presented the women voices and the voices resisted the objectification. Research findings showed that ideology of objectification of women's body dominated readers. Reader who is negotiated with the objectification of women body is influenced by their spouse who can play the role of subject in sexual relationship.

Abstrak :
Pengetahuan remaja tentang seksualitas dan kesehatan reproduksi masih rendah, meskipun telah terdapat inisiatif pendidikan seksualitas dan kesehatan reproduksi seperti yang ditunjukan oleh berbagai penelitian sebelumnya. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendidikan seksualitas dan kesehatan reproduksi bagi remaja yang telah dilakukan oleh pemerintah maupun non-pemerintah pada jenjang SMA. Tulisan ini didasarkan penelitian yang menggunakan metode mixed methods, yaitu kuantitatif yang didukung oleh kualitatif. Metode kuantitatif, yaitu survei dilakukan terhadap 918 siswa dan 128 guru SMA dan didukung oleh diskusi kelompok terfokus dan wawancara mendalam di delapan kota di Indonesia. Diskusi kelompok terfokus dilakukan terhadap organisasi masyarakat sipil, forum guru, dan kelompok remaja, sedangkan wawancara mendalam dilakukan terhadap pemerintah daerah, orang tua murid, komite sekolah, dan tokoh agama/masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan seksualitas dan kesehatan reproduksi tidak sesuai dengan realitas perilaku seksual dan resiko seksual yang dihadapi remaja karena: (1) Pendidikan seksualitas dan kesehatan reproduksi yang sudah diberikan pada jenjang SMA lebih menitikberatkan pada aspek biologis semata; (2) Masih adanya anggapan bahwa seksualitas merupakan hal yang tabu untuk diberikan di sekolah; (3) Pendidikan cenderung menekankan pada bahaya dan resiko seks pranikah dari sudut pandang moral dan agama; (4) Pendidikan belum memandang pentingnya aspek relasi gender dan hak remaja dalam kesehatan reproduksi dan seksual remaja. Konstruksi seksualitas remaja dan wacana mengenai pendidikan seksualitas berperan terhadap isi dan metode pendidikan seksualitas dan kesehatan reproduksi bagi remaja.

Between Needs and Taboos: Sexuality and Reproductive Health Education for High School Students. Adolescents? knowledge on sexuality and reproductive health is still limited, although there have been initiatives to provide sexual and reproductive health education as indicated by previous studies. This paper examines reproductive health and sexuality education for adolescents that has been conducted by government and non-government at the high school level. This paper is based on a research using mixed methods of quantitative methods that are supported by qualitative. Quantitative methods are surveys conducted to 918 students and 128 high school teachers and supported by focus group discussions and in-depth interviews in eight cities in Indonesia. Focus group discussions conducted to civil society organizations, teacher forums, and youth groups, while in-depth interviews conducted to local government, parents, school committees, and religious/community leaders. The results show that the reproductive and sexual health education does not match the reality of sexual behavior and sexual risk faced by teenagers because: (1) reproductive health and sexuality education that is given to the high school level is more focused on the biological aspects alone, (2) There is still a notion that sexuality is a taboo to be given at school, (3) the sexuality education tends to emphasize the dangers of premarital sex from the moral and religious point of view, (4) the sexuality education has not looked at the importance of aspects of gender relations and rights of adolescents in adolescent reproductive and sexual health. The construction of adolescent sexuality and the discourse on sexuality education contribute to the content and methods of sexuality and reproductive health education for adolescents.
