Skripsi ini membahas metode penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam penerjemahan artikel Politisches System dalam buku Tatsachen über Deutschland dari bahasa Jerman ke bahasa Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ketepatan penerjemahan artikel tersebut. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kontrastif. Hasil dari penelitian ini memaparkan ketidakoptimalan hasil penerjemahan dari artikel Tatsachen über Deutschland. Penelitian ini juga menujukan kaitan proses penerjemahan metode semantis yang tidak selalu menghasilkan terjemahan yang optimal jika tidak memperhatikan pengetahuan yang dimiliki oleh kelompok sasaran.

ABSTRACT
This research discusses about methods of translating articles Politisches System in Tatsachen über Deutschland. The purpose of this study is to analyse the accuracy of the translation of the article. The descriptive contranstive method is used to examine the accuracy of the translation. The results of this study describes the inaccuracy from the results of the translation. The study also shows relation of translation process using semantic method that does not always produce effective translation if do not use the knowledge possessed by the target group.
