"ABSTRAKDiabetes melitus merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan utama di Indonesia, olehkarena itu obat bagi terapi diabetes terus dikembangkan. Salah satunya adalah obatobatandengan mekanisme penghambat α-glukosidase yang dinilai memiliki efeksamping lebih kecil dibanding obat antidiabetes golongan lain. Hal ini menyebabkanpencarian senyawa penghambat α-glukosidase, termasuk dari bahan alam terusdilakukan, terutama senyawa yang berasal dari mikroorganisme. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk mengisolasi kapang endofit dari kulit batang randu (Ceiba pentandraL. Gaertn) dan memperoleh hasil uji aktivitas panghambatan α-glukosidase dari hasilfermentasi kapang endofit. Isolasi dilakukan dari bagian dalam kulit batang randu(Ceiba pentandra L. Gaertn) yang telah terbukti melalui penelitian in vivo maupun invitro memiliki potensi sebagai pengontrol kadar gula darah. Enam koloni kapangendofit berhasil diisolasi dari kulit batang randu, dan setiap isolat difermentasi. Hasilfermentasi diekstraksi dengan pelarut etil asetat dan metanol. Dari penelitian inidiperoleh enam ekstrak dengan aktivitas penghambatan α-glukosidase lebih baik dariakarbose dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 118,603 μg/mL.

AbstractAlpha glucosidase inhibitor is one of therapeutic approaches for diabetes mellituswhich is known for its safety compare to other oral anti diabetic drugs. Thereforesearching of α-glucosidase inhibitor from natural compound was recently done bymany researchers to find the new active compounds. Endophytic fungi have greatpotential as a source of α-glucosidase inhibitory compounds. This research aims toisolate the endophytic fungi from Silk cotton-tree Bark (Ceiba Pentandra (L.) Gaertn)and then to evaluate their α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. We successfully isolatedfive endophytic fungi colonies, and then each isolate was fermented and extractedwith ethyl acetate and methanol. Each extract was assayed for its α-glucosidaseinhibitory activity using spectrophotometry method. Six extracts showed better α-glucosidase inhibitory than acarbose with the lowest IC50 value was 118.603 ppm."
