"Skripsi ini merupakan hasil penelitian kualitatif dengan ragam studi kasus yang mengidentifikasi praktik politik dalam arena sosial nagari Pasca Rezim Orde Baru. Penelitian ini menggambarkan dinamika sosial dan politik yang terjadi di tingkat lokal pasca diterapkannya kebijakan desentralisasi di Indonesia. Melalui analisa sosiologi politik dan kerangka berpikir Pierre Bourdieu mengenai habitus dan arena (field), penelitian ini melihat bagaimana pengaruh demokratisasi terhadap arena sosial nagari dan bagaimana para aktor di dalamnya merespon perubahan tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa demokratisasi telah mengubah aturan main (rules of the game) yang ada di arena sosial nagari, dari yang awalnya bersifat eksklusif menjadi aturan yang bersifat inklusif. Inklusifitas ditunjukan dari terbukanya ruang bagi masyarakat untuk melakukan mobilitas sosial, baik di internal nagari maupun ke arena lain di tingkat yang lebih tinggi.

This Thesis is the result of a qualitative research in the form of case study which indentifies the political practice of wali nagari in Post New Order Regime. This research describes the social and political dynamics in local field after the implementation of decentralization policy in Indonesia. Using political sociology analysis and framework of Pierre Bourdieu's habitus and field, this research sees the the influence of democratization towards nagari?s social field and the responds of the actors against the changes. The result of this research show that democratization has transformed the rules of the game of nagari?s social field; from exclusive to inclusive regulation. Inclusivity has shown in more open space for society to do social mobility; not only in the internal of nagari but also in the other higher field."
