"Penelitian ini meneliti mengenai proses impression management yang terjadi dalam blog politikus serta pemanfaatan blok sebagai sarana konstruksi citra politikus tersebut. Blog yang diangkat adalah blog ahok.org, blog resmi yang dimiliki oleh Wakil Gubernur DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok). Lebih khusus lagi, penelitian ini khusus meneliti tentang konstruksi citra Ahok dalam kasus Sengketa Waduk Pluit yang sempat santer di pertengahan Mei 2013. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode framing analysis oleh Gamson & Modigliani untuk melihat isi konten dari blog ahok.org. Selain itu, dilakukan pula wawancara sebagai data pendukung untuk memperkaya hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua artikel yang diunggah dalam blog ini memiliki frame positif kepada Ahok. Hal ini menunjukkan terdapat upaya penyeleksian informasi dalam kasus Waduk Pluit tersebut. Ini membuktikan adanya proses impression management yang dilakukan dalam blog ini. Selain itu, konten dalam artikel-artikel blog ahok.org juga turut membantu mengukuhkan citra Ahok sebagai pemimpin yang inovatif, berpihak kepada rakyat, serta tegas dalam menyampaikan pendapatnya.

This research is focusing about the impression management process in political blog and about the use of the blog as a medium to construct the image of the politician. The blog that is used in this thesis is ahok.org, the official blog of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) as Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta. Specifically, this thesis is studying Waduk Pluit Conflict as the main case. This case was happening in the middle of May 2013 and quite popular in mass media and also for the citizen. This thesis is using framing analysis by Gamson & Modigliani to analyze the content of ahok.org. Beside framing, this thesis is also using interview as support data to enrich the results of the thesis.

The results of this thesis is showing that almost all of the articles in ahok.org have positive frames for Ahok. It means that there is an attempt to control informations for Waduk Pluit case. It also prooves that there is an impression management process that is done in this blog. Moreover, the contents of these articles in ahok.org is strengthening the image of Ahok as a very straightforward person in saying his opinions, but he is still a dedicated person, inovative and very concern to his people."
