"Jurnal ini membahas tentang sejauh mana Sinar Harapan membingkai dua tokoh calon presiden yang terkenal kontroversial, sejauh mana sisi positif dan negatif kedua tokoh dibingkai oleh penulis artikel. Penulis menggunakan metode analisis framing Pan and Konsicki. Analisis framing menghasilkan temuan: (1) Gaya tulisan penulis artikel terkait dua tokoh calon presiden menciptakan efek framing, dan (2) Kesan pertama sengaja ingin diciptakan penulis artikel dalam tulisannya tersebut. Berdasarkan keseluruhan framing dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam melakukan pembingkaian atas kedua tokoh calon presiden tersebut, penulis artikel jelas ingin memunculkan efek framing kepada khalayak pembacanya mengenai kepribadian kedua calon negarawan tersebut. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa penulis artikel mempersilakan pembacanya untuk menilai sendiri dan memutuskan calon mana yang lebih sesuai untuk menjadi presiden Indonesia di masa mendatang.

This paper discusses about how far did Sinar Harapan create framing of two controversial figures of presidential candidate, how far the author of the article framed positive and negative sides of both figures. The author used analytical methods framing of Pan and Konsicki. From the framing analysis, I find out: (1) the author’s article writing style about two prominent presidential candidates created a framing effect, and (2) First impressions deliberately created in the writings by the article’s author. Based on the overall framing can be concluded that in doing the framing of the two presidential candidates, the article’s author obviously wanted to bring up the framing effect to the reader about the personalities of the two statesman candidates. This indicates that the article’s author invited the readers to judge it by themselves and decide which one of the candidates is more appropriate to become president of Indonesia in the future."
