Abstrak :
Karya sastra menyajikan berbagai konflik yang terinspirasi dari kejadian nyata maupun murni buatan pengarang. Kehadiran konflik dalam karya sastra, mampu menghadirkan efek-efek yang diinginkan oleh pengarang. Seperti contohnya efek kejutan, sedih, senang dan lainnya dalam cerita. Kejutan akibat dari konflik yang terjadi dalam cerita dapat dilihat dari cerpen Binjib karya Kim In Suk. Binjib menceritakan kisah kehidupan rumah tangga yang dijalani oleh sepasang suami-istri selama 27 tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konflik-konflik yang muncul serta penyebabnya dalam cerpen. Konflik dikaji melalui plot karena plot mengandung unsur esensial termasuk konflik. Latar belakang terjadinya konflik dianalisis melalui penokohan untuk melihat watak atau tindakan mana yang mempengaruhi munculnya konflik. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan teori plot dan penokohan milik Nurgiyantoro. Data diperoleh melalui cara baca dan catat dari kutipan cerpen Binjib. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya konflik internal yang dialami tokoh istri, dan konflik eksternal yang terjadi antara tokoh istri dengan tokoh tambahan, serta tokoh istri dengan tokoh suami. Adapun penyebab konflik terjadi di dalam Binjib karena watak dan tindakan antara tokoh suami dan istri serta tokoh gadis penyewa jasa angkutan barang milik suami. The presence of conflict in literary works can produce the effects desired by the author. For example, the effects of surprise, sadness, happiness, and others in the story. The effects of surprise from the conflict that occurs in the story can be seen in the short story Binjib by Kim In-suk. Binjib tells the story of the husband and wife who lived together for 27 years. This research aims to identify the conflicts arise and causes in short stories. Conflict is studied through plot because plot contains essential elements including conflict. The background of conflict is analysed through characterization to see which characters or actions influence the emergence of the conflict. Descriptivequalitative method will be used with Nurgiyantoro's theory of plot and characterization. Data was obtained by reading and taking notes from excerpts from the short story Binjib. The results of the research show that there is internal conflict experienced by the wife character, and external conflict that occurs between the wife character and additional characters, as well as the wife character and the husband character. The cause of the conflict in Binjib is because of the characters and actions between the husband and wife characters and the girl character who rents the husband's goods transportation service.
