Tesis ini membahas mengenai representasi modernitas dari Stasiun Jakarta Kota dan Stasiun Sudirman pasca diberlakukannya sistem e-ticketing dan perbaikan infrastruktur stasiun pada tahun 2013. E-ticketing dan perbaikan infrastruktur merepresentasikan pengembangan layanan perkeretaapian Jakarta. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perubahan stasiun yang ditopang oleh teknologi dan infrastruktur berhasil mengembalikan fungsi stasiun sekaligus mengubah budaya dan pemaknaan masyarakat atas stasiun. ......This thesis discusses about the representation of modernity in Jakarta Kota Station and Sudirman Station as a result of e-ticketing system implementation and the improvement of its infrastructure since 2013. E-ticketing system and the improvement of station infrastructure represents the modernization Jakarta's public transportation. The result of this research shows that the transformation of the station, which is supported by technology and infrastructure, could restore the real function of the station as well as changing the culture and the construction meaning of the station.
