Abstrak :
Suku sunda adalah suku yang intensitas migrasinya rendah namun saat ini terjadi peningkatan migrasi suku sunda ke wilayah pinggiran Jakarta. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pola migrasi suku Sunda berdasarkan siklus hidupnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif untuk dapat menjabarkan pengaruh variable - variabel dalam siklus hidup seperti karakteristik keluarga, pertumbuhan karir hidup serta karakteristik daerah tujuan mempengaruhi pola migrasi suku Sunda. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa generasi pertama dan generasi kedua suku Sunda memilih daerah tujuan migrasi dikarenakan adanya sanak saudara. Faktor pendorong yang menyebabkan generasi pertama bermigrasi adalah faktor pernikahan sedangkan faktor pendorong yang menyebabkan generasi kedua bermigrasi adalah hubungan kekerabatan, pernikahan dan pekerjaan. ...... The Sundanese is an ethnic which has low migration intensity, however lately there is an increase of Migration of Sundanese to suburban area of Jakarta. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Sundanese’s pattern of migration based on their life cycle. This study is used a descriptive qualitative method in order to describe the influence of variables in life cycle such as the characteristic of family, the growth of career and also characteristic of destination which affecting to the Sundanese’s pattern of migration. The result of this study is shown that the first generation’s and the second generation’s choose the destination of their migration due to their family. Push factor that caused the first generation’s migration is marriage and push factor that causes the second generation’s migration is job vacancies, marriage and the linkages to live with parents.
