"Skripsi ini membahas latar belakang penciptaan novel O​pera Bulu Tangkis 1995 karya Titi Nginung. Novel ini pertama kali terbit dalam bentuk cerita bersambung, dimuat di harian Kompas, 3 Mei 1985 -- 8 Juli 1985, kemudian PT Gramedia menerbitkannya dalam bentuk novel, Desember 1985. Latar belakang itu meliputi analisis peristiwa-peristiwa yang dihadapi pengarang dalam membuat novel dan gagasan yang ingin disampaipakannya. Novel ini berjenis "futuristik" atau menceritakan masa depan karena ditulis pada tahun 1985 tetapi menceritakan peristiwa tahun 1995​. Di dalamnya, pengarang menyampaikan gagasan-gagasan terhadap perbulutangkisan Indonesia agar mampu kembali meraih kejayaan yang sempat memudar.

This thesis is about the background of creating the novel Opera Badminton 1995 by Titi Nginung. The novel was firstly published in a form of serialized was published in the daily newspaper Kompas on May 3 1985 until July 8 1985, before Gramedia published the story in a form of novel in December 1985. The background consists of analysis towards events faced by the author when writting the novel and the notions he wanted to covery. This novel is the "futuristic" one for it projects upcoming events in the future. The novel was written in 1985 but the events told in the novel take 1995 at the setting, which is ten years later. In his novel, the author conveys his ideas regarding Indonesian badminton, so that Indonesia can regain its glory, which had faded. Intrinsic aspects are analyzed by comparing events hapend in 1995 as they are weitten in the novel with the ones happened in real life in the same year."
