"Pramoedya Ananta Toer rewrote the tragic story of Ki Ageng Mangir into aply in 1976 while he was imprisoned in Buru Island and finally saw its publication, entitled Mangir, in 2000. This work owes its importance to pramudya's ability to use the framework of the story to expose the similarities between the Mataram era and the new order era,particularly their manipulations of power. In the traditional story, the tragig hero, Ki Ageng Mangir, is betrayed by his wife and killed by his father-in-law Panembahan Senopati, but Pramoedya reconstructured these myths in a series of "corrections" that move the story closer into history. These"corrections are deconstruction of traditional Javanese symbolisms . This paper explains and explores the historical paradigm that Pramoedya Ananta Toer employs in his rewriting of the story."

"Karya sastra, masyarakat, dan pengarang memiliki hubungan yang saling terkait dan tidak dapat dipisahkan. Ketiga hal tersebut terlihat pula dalam novel Jamangilak tak Pernah Menangis karya Martin Aleida. Tema cerita yang membahas perselisihan antara masyarakat Porsea dan PT Rayon i Toba tersebut ternyata terkait dengan permasalahan yang ada di dalam kehidupan nyata yaitu masalah PT Toba Pulp Lestari yang ada di Sumatra Utara. Pengangkatan cerita terebut juga tidak lepas dari ideologi serta riwayat Martin Aleida yang sangat sosialis dan pernah terlibat dalam gerakan yang berafiliasi sosialis seperti PKI (Partai Komunis Indonesia). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa banyak sekali kesamaan unsur instrinsik novel baik dalam hal alur, tokoh, konflik, serta latar dalam novel Jamangilak tak Pernah Menangis dengan data dan fakta yang ditemukan dari berita dan dokumen-dokumen lembaga yang terlibat dalam kasus industri tersebut.

Literature, society, and writer are three ponit that can not be separated in sociological literature research. Those relation between that point also looked in Jamangilak tak Pernah Menangis novel. The theme of the novel that mention about the conflict between Porsean society and Rayon i Toba Company is similar with real conflict that had happen in PT Toba Pulp Lestari which located in North Sumatra. The idea in mentioning that conflict also have strong relation with Martin Aleida ideology and biography whom has experienced and afiliated with socialis partied like Partai Komunis Indonesia (PKI). Based on the research shows that there are a lot similarities between plot, figure, conflict and setting with data and fact which found in the mass media and nonprofit oganization document."
