This thesis discusses about output differences of Elekta Precise linac treatment system on Gatot Subroto Army Hospital between the use of matrix detector and water phantom, for x-ray measurement performed on 10 x 10 cm2 field size with a SSD 100 cm, as well as electron measurement using the applicator 10 x 10 cm2 with SSD 95 cm, both on the given dose of 1 Gray (100 MU) in the maximum depth. PDD for x-rays and electrons from the measurement of the matrix detector has shorter range in comparison to the maximum depth of measurement results with the water phantom. The range of difference is found to be 4 mm - 5 mm for x-rays and 3 mm - 6 mm for the electrons. Dose profile for x-ray measurement using the matrix detector is having compatibility with water phantom measurement at the irradiation field, with the difference found to be less than 2%. For the electron beam, significant difference occurs with increasing depth, leading to the conclusion that the matrix detector can be used to verify radiation on the Gross Tumour Volume (GTV), while being not good enough for the Organ at Risk (OAR). The matrix detector is better used for x-rays measurement, with relatively poor compatibility for electron measurement.

Trefethen, Lloyd N.
"Numerical Linear Algebra is a concise, insightful, and elegant introduction to the field of numerical linear algebra. Designed for use as a stand-alone textbook in a one-semester, graduate-level course in the topic, it has already been class-tested by MIT and Cornell graduate students from all fields of mathematics, engineering, and the physical sciences. The authors' clear, inviting style and evident love of the field, along with their eloquent presentation of the most fundamental ideas in numerical linear algebra, make it popular with teachers and students alike.
Numerical Linear Algebra aims to expand the reader's view of the field and to present the core, standard material in a novel way. It is a perfect companion volume to the encyclopedic treatment of the topic that already exists in Golub and Van Loan's now-classic Matrix Computations. All of the most important topics in the field, including iterative methods for systems of equations and eigenvalue problems and the underlying principles of conditioning and stability, are covered. Trefethen and Bau offer a fresh perspective on these and other topics, such as an emphasis on connections with polynomial approximation in the complex plane.
Numerical Linear Algebra is presented in the form of 40 lectures, each of which focuses on one or two central ideas. Throughout, the authors emphasize the unity between topics, never allowing the reader to get lost in details and technicalities. The book breaks with tradition by beginning not with Gaussian elimination, but with the QR factorization--a more important and fresher idea for students, and the thread that connects most of the algorithms of numerical linear algebra, including methods for least squares, eigenvalue, and singular value problems, as well as iterative methods for all of these and for systems of equations.

"Designed for first-year graduate students from a variety of engineering and scientific disciplines, this comprehensive textbook covers the solution of linear systems, least squares problems, eigenvalue problems, and the singular value decomposition. The author, who helped design the widely used LAPACK and ScaLAPACK linear algebra libraries, draws on this experience to present state-of-the-art techniques for these problems, including recommending which algorithms to use in various practical situations. Algorithms are derived in a mathematically illuminating way, including condition numbers and error bounds. Direct and iterative algorithms, suitable for dense and sparse matrices, are discussed. Algorithm design for modern computer architectures, where moving data is often more expensive than arithmetic operations, is discussed in detail, using LAPACK as an illustration. There are many numerical examples throughout the text and in the problems at the ends of chapters, most of which are written in MATLAB and are freely available on the Web."

"This textbook provides a self-contained introduction to linear programming using MATLAB software to elucidate the development of algorithms and theory. Early chapters cover linear algebra basics, the simplex method, duality, the solving of large linear problems, sensitivity analysis, and parametric linear programming. In later chapters, the authors discuss quadratic programming, linear complementarity, interior-point methods, and selected applications of linear programming to approximation and classification problems.
Exercises are interwoven with the theory presented in each chapter, and two appendices provide additional information on linear algebra, convexity, and nonlinear functions and on available MATLAB commands, respectively. Readers can access MATLAB codes and associated mex files at a Web site maintained by the authors."
