Combustion engines development nowadays is based on simulation, not only of the transient reaction of vehicles or of the complete driveshaft, but also of the highly unsteady processes in the carburation process and the combustion chamber of an engine. Different physical and chemical approaches are described to show the potentials and limits of the models used for simulation.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja sistem temu kembali enam search engines dalam menelusur informasi mengenai Filsafat Islam di Web. Kinerja akan diukur dengan mengetahui tingkat keterhubungan antara informasi mengenai Filsafat Islam di web yang tertemu-kembali dengan query yang dimasukkan. Penelitian ini juga ditujukan untuk mengetahui kombinasi dua search engines yang paling baik untuk menelusur informasi Filsafat Islam di web. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan enam search engines utama, yaitu AltaVista, Excite, Fast, Google, HotBot, dan NorthernLight. Pertanyaan (query) yang diajukan berasal dari Library of Congress Subject Heading yang mewakili Filsafat Islam, yaitu "Philosophy, Islamic", "Arabic Philosophy", "Cosmology, Islamic", Islamic Ethics", dan "Muslim Philosophy". Penelusuran dilakukan oleh peneliti selaku perantara (intermediary). Pengujian tingkat keterhubungan (relatedness) dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Falsafah dan Kebudayaan Universitas Paramadina. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem temu-kembali informasi Excite memiliki ketepatan paling tinggi. Pasangan dua search engines yang paling efektif untuk menemukan informasi mengenai Filsafat Islam adalah AltaVista dan Excite.
Search Engines Systems Performance In Retrieving Information About Islamic Philosophy From The WebThe objectives of this research are to determine the information retrieval system effectiveness of six major search engines that applied to Islamic Philosophy documents collection in the World Wide Web. Performance will be measure by trying to determine to what extent the documents retrieved are related to the query applied by the search intermediary. This research will also determine the precision of the documents retrieved, and which two-search engines combination are the best to do the searching. This investigation is using six major search engines, i.e. AltaVista, Excite, Fast, Google, HotBot, and Northern Light. The queries that represent the Islamic Philosophy are taken from the Library of Congress Subject Heading. They are: "Philosophy, Islamic", "Arabic Philosophy", "Cosmology, Islamic", "Islamic Ethics", and "Muslim Philosophy". The searching in the internee: is done by the researcher as an intermediary. Then the student of Philosophy and Religions Program determine the subject related judgment of document retrieved from each search engines. The results show that from the first ten retrieved documents, Excites' information retrieval system is the highest in precision. The most effective search engines combination are between AltaVista and Excite.

Dalam rangka untuk meningkatkan pembinaan dan perlindungan tenaga kerja, keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja sebagaimana terrnuat dalam Undang Undang no,14 tahun 1969 dalam Bab IV pasal 9 dan pasal 10, dan Undang - Undang no.1 tahun 1970, tentang keselamatan kerja. Untuk mengetahui besarnya niliai intensitas getaran dan kebisingan pada ruang kamar yang bersumber dari motor induk motor diesel 4- langkah di kapal ferry, maka dilakukan , 'study' cross sectional yang mencoba melihat kedudukan masing faktor yang mempengaruhi seperti : jumlah silinder, putaran motor, berat jenis motor induk, volume jenis ruang kamar mesin, umur pakai motor, dan jumlah daun propeller yang digunakan untuk mendorong kapal, terhadap besarnya tingkat getaran dan kebisingan pada ruang kamar mesin. Populasi penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 23 kapal ferry yang menggunakan motor diesel 4- langkah sebagai alat pengerak utama di pelayaran selat sunda dan selat madura. Cara pengumpulan data variabel dependen, yaitu untuk getaran diukur dengan Vibration Meter ' standard ISOMDS 5349 dan untuk kebisingan diukur dengan ` Sound Level Meter standard JIS, sedangkan varibel - varibel Independen dengan cara observasi dan pengisian questioner, dengan analisa univariate, bivarite, multivariate dengan uji statisk ANOVA. Hasil penelitian ini menujukan bahwa besarnya tingkat intensitas getaran dan kebisingan pada ruang kamar mesin dengan percepatan 9,18 m/det 2 dan kebisingan 121,14 dBA. Besar tingkat getaran pada ruang kamar mesin, melalui, kedudukan katub 11,95 m/det 2, kedudukan pondasi 5,17 m/det 2, sistim transmisi 9,72 m/det 2 dan lantai ruang kamar mesin 3,69 m/det 2. Besar tingkat kebisingan pada ruang kamar mesin melalui hasil pembakaran motor melalui turbo ke stage gas buang 112,7 dBA dan kedudukan katub buang 112,3 dBA. Dari hasil evaluasi bahwa adanya hubungan yang bermakna (p < 0,05) antara jumlah silinder, putaran motor, berat jenis motor dan umur pakai motor terhadap tinggi rendahnya tingkat getaran dan kebisingan pada ruang kamar mesin, sedangkan volume jenis ruang kamar mesin dan jumlah daun proppeller tidak mempunyai hubungan yang bermakna dengan tinggi rendahnya tingkat getaran dan kebisingan pada ruang kamar mesin. Dimana pemakaian jumlah silinder, putaran motor, berat jenis motor induk, dan umur pakai motor sangat menentukan besarnya tingkat intensitas getaran dan kebisingan.

The majority of 0D/1D knock models available today are known for their poor accuracy and the great effort needed for their calibration. Alexander Fandakov presents a novel, extensively validated phenomenological knock model for the development of future engine concepts within a 0D/1D simulation environment that has one engine-specific calibration parameter. Benchmarks against the models commonly used in the automotive industry reveal the huge gain in knock boundary prediction accuracy achieved with the approach proposed in this work. Thus, the new knock model contributes substantially to the efficient design of spark ignition engines employing technologies such as full-load exhaust gas recirculation, water injection, variable compression ratio or lean combustion.
