"Nyeri yang dirasakan individu adalah pengalaman subjektif dan bervariasi yang. merupakan salah satu mekanisme pertahanan tubuh. Nyeri dapat diatasi dengan A menggunakan obat-obatan (farmakologik) dan non farmakologik. Oleh karena itu penting bagi perawat mengatasi nyeri pasien untuk memberikan kenyamanan, baik melalui tindakan mandiri maupun tindakan kolaborasi. Tindakan mandiri perawat adalah manajemen nyeri non farmakologik, diantaranya adalah teknik distraksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas teknik distraksi dalam mengurangi nyeri pasien yang dilakukan appendiktomi pada hari rawat pertama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode dari eksgerimental dengan teknik teknik one group dan tanpa kelompok kontrol. Sampel pada penelitian adalah pasien paska appendiktomi hari pertama yang diambil di Ruang Perawatan Bedah Syifa RS. Haji Jakarta. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada 30 orang sampel yang telah diseleksi sesuai kriteria yang ditentukan. Data yang terkumpul kemudian diolah dengan perhitungan statistik single sample. Data hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa teknik distraksi efektif dalam mengurangi intensitas dan lama nyeri, tetapi tidak untuk frekuensi nyeri."
