Drug abuse could still be considered as a big issue in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. Jakarta has the highest number for incidenced for drug abuse in Indonesia, 350,000 case per year. In this case, the most drug user age are in productive age. Based on Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN)’s data, drug abuse is one of the main cause of traffic accident. This traffic accident cause national economic and social loss up to Rp217 billions per year. This is worsen by the victim of traffic accident age group is 20-50 years old. In this study, will see the relationship between age and drug abuse in traffic accident victim in Jakarta between 2012-2014.
This is a cross sectional study with secondary data using Department Forensic and Medicolegal RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo's postmortem data. From 1,415 case of traffic accident, there are 56 subject that performed Rapid Test for toxicology. Men 87% (n=47) are majority of subjects. Whereas the main age group in the subject are 21-30 years old, with the mean age is 32±12.4.
The positive result is given by 7 subjects (12,5%). Gender majority in positive result are men (n=5) and the main age group is 31-40 years old. The most detected subtance are methamphetamine (n=4), benzodiazepine (n=3), and opioid (n=2). Mann-Whitney test was performed towards the age variable, which result is p=0.799.
By this result, there are no statistically significant relationship between age and drug abuse in traffic accident victim in Jakarta. Despite this result there is still a chance that drug abuse can cause traffic accident. Therefore, there still need more precaution and policy about drug abuse especially for driving safety in Indonesia, regardless of age.

"Basic principles of forensic chemistry is designed to provide a clear and concise understanding of forensic chemistry. The text begins with an introduction to the basic principles of chemistry and expands through organic chemistry into forensic investigation. The detailed chapters focus on both the theoretical and practical aspects of forensic chemistry with emphasis on controlled substance testing and identification. In addition, the text contains a comprehensive collection of information and data on controlled substances commonly encountered in forensic investigation including, detailed structural analysis, physical and physiological effects, functional group reactivity, and results of analytical examination. Also illustrated is arguably the greatest challenge to the forensic chemist. The investigation and processing of clandestine laboratory operations. The Forensic Chemistry Laboratory Manual is included on a CD-ROM and contains a collection of practical exercises designed to support theoretical principles covered in the text. "

"New strategies and techniques for today's fast-paced discovery process. Today, the pressure is on for high-throughput approaches to accelerate the generation, identification, and optimization of molecules with desirable drug properties. As traditional methods of analysis become antiquated, new analytical strategies and techniques are necessary to meet sample throughput requirements and manpower constraints. Among them, mass spectrometry has grown to be a front-line tool throughout drug discovery. Integrated Strategies for Drug Discovery Using Mass Spectrometry provides a thorough review of current analytical approaches, industry practices, and strategies in drug discovery. The topics represent current industry benchmarks in specific drug discovery activities that deal with proteomics, biomarker discovery, metabonomic approaches for toxicity screening, lead identification, compound libraries, quantitative bioanalytical support, biotransformation, reactive metabolite characterization, lead optimization, pharmaceutical property profiling, sample preparation strategies, and automation. THIS BOOK: Clearly explains how drug discovery and mass spectrometry are interconnected Discusses the uses and limitations of various types of mass spectrometry in various aspects of drug discovery Prominently features analytical applications that require trace-mixture analysis Provides industry applications and real-world examples Shares historical background information on various techniques to aid in the understanding of how and why new methods are now being employed to analyze samples."
