"Aktivitas pada kegiatan ship recycling menjadi sebuah labor-intensive industry dan menjadi sumber daya yang penting bagi kebutuhan logam untuk konstruksi meskipun aktivitas ini kotor dan berbahaya bagi lingkungan sekitar. Proses penutuhan kapal lazim di Indonesia, dengan tenaga buruh yang dilakukan secara manual di pinggiran pantai dengan kurangnya fasilitas yang mumpuni dan mengenyampingkan keselamatan diri bahkan lingkungan. Hal ini tetap berlaku meskipun galangan tersebut sudah dianggap modern, karena memiliki risiko yang tinggi. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisa dan evaluasi sistem K3LL pada galangan penutuhan kapal yang berkelanjutan berdasarkan studi literatur dari regulasi yang ada seperti Hong Kong Convention, Basel Convention, hingga Peraturan dan Undang-Undang nasional untuk melihat kondisi ship recycling yang ada di Indonesia terutama dengan galangan yang dirancang untuk berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan untuk melakukan evaluasi adalah Formal Safety Assessment (FSA), dengan hasil akhir adalah mampu membuat SOP untuk galangan yang berkelanjutan.

Activities in ship recycling have become a labour-intensive industry and become an important resource for metal needs for construction although these activities are dirty and dangerous for the surrounding environment. The process of recycling ships is common in Indonesia, with manual labour on the coast with a lack of adequate facilities and neglecting personal and environmental safety. It applies although the shipyard is modern because of the high risk. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the HSE system in sustainable shipyards based on literature studies from existing regulations such as the Hong Kong Convention, Basel Convention, to national regulations and laws to see the condition of recycled ships in Indonesia, especially with ship recycling yards which designed to be sustainable. The method for this study used Formal Safety Assessment (FSA), with the final result being able to make SOPs for sustainable ship recycling yards."
