Air Conditioning Test Facility, BTMP - BPPTZ The experiment was running based on the following
conditions: compressor running or 2980 rpm, inlet evaporator for evaporator was varied from -2°C until
6°C and outlet temperature of condenser was set at 39°C Test analysis shows that hydrocarbon
performance is almost some as CFC-I2 even better than RI2. As conclusion hydrocarbon can be used
as alternative for CFC-12.

"Agglomeratian method could be used to decrease the pyritic sulfur content in the coal. Bituminous
coal from Tanjung Enim Sumatera Seiatan with 13.34 % of ash and 1,86 % of sulfur contents as raw
materials, were mired by water and oil in the stainless steel cylinder, then be agitated to produce
agglomerate. By using the palm oil and crude palm oil (CPO) as agglomerating oils, the ash and sulfur
contents decreased to 4. 66 % and 1.42 % respectively.

"The integration of adsorption and photocatalysis process is considered to have a better prospect in
handling of organic wastes. The combination of catalyst consisting of Ti0; photocatalyst and active
carbon (AC) adsorbent has been evaluated to treat a phenol waste. Preparation of catalyst was
conducted by evaporating all dilution of TiO; slurry, which has been mired with the granular of active
carbon at a temperature of l00"C and calcined at a temperature of 400"C. SiO; which obtained from
TEOS solutions was added to prevent a falling off TiO;]rom AC support Characterization of BET was
conducted to find out the surf/'ace area as well as pore size of the catalyst. Activity test of the catalyst
material was done by conducting of 30 ppm phenol solution in annular Pyrex glass reactor that
surrounded by 3 U V lamps, which have the total illumination intensity of I 44 ,UW/ml. The phenol solution
was continuously poured in the reactor with rate of 35 ml/min for about 8 hours. The phenol
concentration was analyzed with spectrophotometer at wavelength of500 nm. The optimum condition of
this domination was reached by using a catalyst of Ti0/SiO;/AC with composition of 2.4:0.047:97.5
(weight ratio), and succeeded in eliminating of 30 ppm phenol with 100 % conversion.

"Mannan is an oligo-saccharide that was used for human health as a prebiotic food and is produced
from hydrolysis of palm kernel cake, coconut seed copra and coke waste. Domestically, palm kernel
cake and copra utilized for low efficiency metabolized animal feed A t this moment, via glico-science and
technology route, these farming waste using mannanase could be degraded to produce functional oligo
saccharide such as mannose and manno-oligosaccharide. Around 20-40% of palm kernel cake fibrous
from CPO waste consist beta-mannan. In the beginning, palm kernel cake fibrous qualitative and
quantitative analysis and mannan preparation was done for the next enzymatic processing (fermentation
step). Optimum condition of palm kernel cake residue hydrolysis was 110°C used heating process till 1_5
hour and 2% mass acid catalyst of 150 g/L, palm kernel cake residue solution. Here, hydrolysis 150 g/L
substrate solution at 90" C used heating process till 1.5 hour produced 19.1% mass mannan. Hydrolisis
using Streptomyces and Saccharopolyspora (strains from B TCC) resulted that both isolates have a
potential to produce mannanase and this raw enzyme qualitativlyt capable to hydrolysis palm kernel cake
for producing oligo-saccharides. Both isolates produced mannanase which higher specific activity after
24 hour inoculation of palm kernel cake residue solution.
