Zelicoff, Alan P.
"Patients today expect their every last ache and pain to be immediately cataloged and cured. They want the pill they just saw advertised, or the latest, greatest procedure. Many doctors, reluctant to tell patients that waiting or doing nothing is often better, are all too willing to accommodate. As a result, we are becoming a nation of over-diagnosed and over-treated people. But how can we know how much medicine is good medicine? And how do we know which treatments might actually work? In "More Harm Than Good", Michael Bellomo and Dr. Alan Zelicoff offer a compelling look at medical care today and explore how common conditions like prostate cancer, heart disease, and diabetes are being over-treated, wasting billions of healthcare dollars and producing less than ideal, if not detrimental results. The authors arm readers with the facts and questions they need to better discuss options with their doctors, and examine the way doctors select treatments in the first place. Based on solid scientific and medical research as well as interviews with surgeons, internists, and general practitioners, "More Harm Than Good" will empower readers to make better health decisions. Revealing and impeccably researched, this is a revolutionary book that will change how we look at being sick."

Ozner, Michael
"Clinical studies show that cardiovascular intervention does not prevent heart attacks or prolong life in stable patients with coronary artery disease . . . so why are more than 1.5 million angioplasties and coronary bypass surgeries done annually in the United States alone? In The Great American Heart Hoax, esteemed cardiologist Michael Ozner, author of The Miami Mediterranean Diet, reveals groundbreaking truths about what actually helps prevent and reverse heart disease and what isn't worth the money or risk. Discover disturbing realities from a cardiologist about the billion-dollar cardiovascular intervention industry. While a minority of patients may benefit from surgery, Ozner uncovers that the majority can employ much simpler methods, such as diet, exercise and medical therapy, to achieve better results—without stents or surgery. Most important, The Great American Heart Hoax provides a 10-step program to improve your heart health and reduce your risk of heart disease."

Sembiring, Sri Alem Br.
memiliki kemampuan secretive agentic.
This dissertation discusses the mechanism of the occurrence of diversity, dynamics
and continuity of shared and unshared knowledge among subjects in a community,
which is situational over time. Learning mechanisms and knowledge transmission
carried out through shared and unshared knowledge became part of and are in the
daily activities of practitioners in their communities. This phenomenon is found in the
daily life of the Karo vegetable farmers in Berastagi, North Sumatra.
The connectionism approach becomes a reference in explaining the phenomenon of
diversity in the shared and unshared knowledge behavior or practices, especially about
pesticides. The study found three main variants of shared and unshared knowledge
behavior with three consequences on the subjects extrapersonal structure. These
consequences affect the formation of subject knowledge schemes which also vary
depending on the characteristics of each consequence on the extrapersonal structure.
The characteristics of the consequences of shared and unshared knowledge reveal the
capacity of agency within the Self and the Others. The findings of this dissertation
give a novelty to the connectionism explanation model to reveal the mechanisms of
diversity knowledge production. The findings of this dissertation also reinforce the
phenomenon of agency diversity, as well as the mechanisms for the emergence of
diversity. Those diversity and dynamics are realized through the mechanisms of
concealment of knowledge, construction/selection of relations and alliances, and the
competition and interests of various subjects. Contextual factors that contribute to the
occurrence of diversity are related to scarcity of resources, disease and pest
interferences, high price fluctuations, and hawa or weather. Some of these contextual
factors are related to historical dimensions, as well as the daily conditions of risk and
uncertainty faced by farmers. Knowledge about the problems is partly shared and
other parts are unshared, especially related to pesticides. The phenomenon of shared
and unshared knowledge spreads into shared behavior, realizing shared concealment
or shared secrecy, and manifesting actors who have secretive agentic capabilities"
