"Literacy and Reading Programmes for Children and Young People: Case Studies from Around the Globe presents interviews with over 40 librarians from around the world who tell of their library programs. The volumes are arranged geographically with Volume 1 offering interviews from library professionals from the USA and Europe, and with Volume 2 sharing programs from Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Middle East.
The volumes highlight the diversity of the types of programs catering to the varying needs of children and young adults throughout the world. Case studies featured in this book outline the details of programs, events, and activities provided by over 40 organizations in the context of social capital and social inclusion. Each interview chapter discusses the contributions made to literacy development and community building of children and teens. With the many variations and examples of best practice, librarians and educators can glean new ideas for their own programs.
The interviews reveal the challenges and issues faced and the work being achieved in vastly different environments, in many geographic areas, and in diverse economic, social, and cultural contexts. The programs include those of national and state libraries, public libraries, and mobile libraries carried out by public libraries, NGOs, and commercial organizations in both developed and developing countries. They also feature programs of multicultural libraries, libraries for indigenous people, and libraries for refugees.
This publication complements the range of initiatives and activities carried out by IFLA’s Libraries for Children and Young Adults Section that supports library services and reading promotion initiatives catering to children and young adults around the world. These volumes are rich in variety and will provide much food for thought for creating unique and successful library programs."

Externalizing problem behavior (EPB) is common in early childhood. During this phase, children will rely on parents to help them guiding their behavior, but not every parent are able to handle EPB of their children. Studies found that cognitive aspects of parenting, such as parenting self-efficacy (PSE), have a consistent contribution towards children’s EPB. Internal factor from children, which is executive function (EF) was also found consistently predicting children’s EPB. Results from several studies also indicated that PSE is related to EF. However, the dynamic between them have not been examined. In this study, the relationship between children’s PSE and EF will be examined. This study will also examine the role of children’s EF as a mediator between children’s PSE and EPB further. Participants were 243 parents who have 3 years old 0 months until 8 years old 0 months children without any developmental, neurological, or any psychological problem. Based on PROCESS Hayes mediation analysis, it was found that PSE is able to predict children’s EF, and relationship between PSE and children’s EPB is fully mediated by children’s EF. This result shows that in order to handle children’s EPB, parents’ PSE and children’s EF have to be considered"

ABSTRACT
Background: Left-behind early adolescents have been known to be significantly loneliner than their counterparts due to absence of parents during their course of development. Furthermore, recent studies also found that loneliness was strongly correlated with interpersonal relationship. This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of Group Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT-G) to reduce loneliness among left-behind early adolescents. This psychotherapy focused on enhancing interpersonal and communication skill among the participants as tools to reduce loneliness.
Method: A total of eight left-behind early adolescents of migrant workers aged 13 to 15 in Cilamaya Kulon, Karawang, was participated in this study. IPT-G consisted of one individual session and six group sessions. The assesment tools used in this program are De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale and Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents. The measurement was done three times: on pre-test, post-test, and one month follow up test. Qualitative measurements obtained from interview and observation during the program were also analysed to depict the change of loneliness condition among participants from session to session.
Result: Overall individual and mean score of loneliness and social anxiety among participants were progressively declining from pre-test to post-test and follow-up test. Based on observation and interview, all participants showed reduced symptoms of loneliness from session to session. They also learned and were able to implement IPT solutions, such as open communication and formulate more realistic expectation.
Conclusion: IPT-G is a simple yet useful intervention to reduce loneliness among left-behind early adolescents of migrant workers."

This research concludes that there are two roles of school libraries in the school literacy movement, namely innovators and founders. The role of an innovator is because of the innovation of the school library in the school literacy movement. The resulting innovations are library visit schedules (habitation stage), reading corner competitions (development stage), and reading corners (learning stage). The role of a founder is because the school library manages the running from the pre-event-post-event of the school literacy movement that was innovated by school library."
