This paper discusses the forms of consumer engagement behavior in using social media, as well as various antecedents that influence them, such as the use of appeals, maximizing the use of social media channels, and the use of electronic-worm of mouth. Then how can advertisers and marketers capitalize on these things in planning viral marketing strategies. This paper uses qualitative research methods through literature studies to provide a descriptive description and correlational relationship between engagement behavior and viral marketing strategy design. The results suggest that planning viral marketing strategies needs to maximize the use of various social media channels, including interactive features provided by each, to generate higher levels of consumer engagement behavior and electronic word of mouth, which can be capitalized for viral marketing programs."

"“Cancel culture” has become one of the most charged concepts in contemporary culture and politics, but mainstream critiques from both the left and the right provide only snapshots of responses to the phenomenon. Takinga media and cultural studies perspective, this book traces the origins of cancel practices and discourses, and discusses their subsequent evolution within celebrity and fan cultures, consumer culture, and national politics in the U.S. and China. Moving beyond popular press accounts about the latest targets of cancelling or familiar free speech debates, this analysis identifies multiple lineages for both cancelling and criticisms about cancelling, underscoring the various configurations of power associated with “cancel culture” in particular cultural and political contexts.

Selfie is rather a contemporary phenomenon yet its history says otherwise; that it‟s been established since almost more than 200 years ago. This study was conducted to describe the aspects of the selfie-doers‟ self through the trend of dispositional tendency to compare with other people (Gibbons & Buunk, 1999) and the motives of self-evaluation (Sedikides & Strube, 1997; Tesser, 2003). 154 respondents who answered to online survey were involved in this study. The results say that there‟s a negative linear trend between the developmental age and the selfie frequency, as well as between the developmental age and the social comparison orientation score. The self-enhancement motive is found dominant within the adolescence respondents whose selfie frequency is the highest among other groups."

Digital media opens up new public spaces and provides opportunities for individuals to explore and produce their own content. This ability to customize and produce content on their own accord gives individuals the chances to be able to present themselves online and build a certain impression on the minds of the content viewers. Youtube and Instagram as a form of new media with the concept of media sharing are the means to make this happen. This study wants to see and analyze the self-presentation practices carried out by South Korean idols through their personal Youtube and Instagram channels with a case study on one of the EXO members, Park Chanyeol. As a public figure whose movements will undoubtedly always be in the public spotlight, this situation can be used to be able to show a certain side of themselves to create a positive impression with the aim of building bonds, affinity and relationships with audience. This study was conducted to analyze the techniques used by Park Chanyeol in presenting himself on Instagram and Youtube by using the concept of Jones & Pittman's (1982) self-presentation tactics through literature studies and social media content analysis. The results show that Ingratiation, self-promotion, and exemplification are three tactics seen in Chanyeol's Instagram and Youtube content. Even though there are differences in the way of transmitting messages on Instagram and Youtube, the self-presentation message that is conveyed can still create a positive image and affinity for the audience."

This paper explains about public sphere as the place for debatting and giving the idea for everyone. But, in today’s context, public sphere is not only a sphere in physical way, but also virtual way. In social media, it is no longer effective for face to face communication, including distance as is found in public sphere. As public sphere media, social media like Facebook, Twitter, Path and Kompasiana have free access and become a place where any expressions, ideas and opinions meet.
In this paper, discussion is made regarding five cases related to the use of public sphere in social media including Florence case in Path, Jokowi humiliation on Facebook, Ahok humilation on Twitter, Prita and Omni Hospital case and also Jilbab Hitam case. The cases reveal that inspite of the principle of freedom of expression in public sphere, social media users are not meant to convey any opinion that may harm an individual, group or institution. Opinion delivered does not contain any provocations, either “trolling” or “flaming” so that the user will not be legally or lawfully caught. Cases of the use of public sphere may bring about a social movoment by public sphere users. The nature of this social movement may either support or bring down the subject.
