"Repeated forest fires have high impact on species’ composition. Pioneer species colonize the burnt forest and develop widely up to 30 years after a fire but late-succession species regenerate gradually or even disappear owing to direct impact of fires or other ecological consequences related to fires. Forest restoration through assisted natural regeneration needs information about the state of species’ composition after fire. Species’ dominance is a species’ composition indicator used in this research, with additional information on species’ association and distribution patterns, to understand tree species’ composition after repeated fires. A 1.8-hectare plot divided into 10 x 10 m sub-plots was established in secondary forest in Samboja Research Forest, East Kalimantan. The plot sample was burnt in 1982/1983 and 1997/1998. All trees above 10 cm DBH were measured; leaf specimens were collected for species’ identification at the Herbarium Bogoriense, Cibinong, West Java. For comparison, we used 1981 data observed by the Indonesian Institute of Science, published by Kartawinata et al 2008. The Importance Value Index was used in the data analysis to express species’ dominance. A 2x2 matrix based on presence-absence of species for each sub-plot was used to analyse the association index among species. Variance and average value ratio of certain species present in each sub-plot was expressed in a dispersion index. A chi-square was used to test the significance of the association and dispersion index. Thirteen years after a second fire, pioneer species of Macaranga gigantea were most dominant, followed by Vernonia arborea, a sub-climax species. This indicated that the forest was in an early succession process. Pholidocarpus majadun was consistently dominant before and after the fire. We found 38 pairs of species significantly positively associated and 4801 pairs negatively associated. About 60% species’ association, both negatively and positively, occurred between ‘native species’ (species that exist befores burnt) and ‘non-native species’ (new comer species regenerated after burnt) in the plot sample. A non-native species, Vernonia arborea, associated negatively with the non-native species Tabernaemontana sphaerocarpa, and native species, Oncosperma horridum, Palaquium dasyphyllum and Endiandra rubescens. The distribution pattern of four native species—Artocarpus anisophyllus, Cananga odorata, Croton laevifolius and Macaranga gigantea—changed after repeated fires, from uniform to clumped."

"Ruang terbuka hijau memiliki fungsi ekologi sebagai daerah resapan air dan sumber kenyamanan termal, dan akan optimal jika memiliki luasan lahan bervegetasi sebesar 80-90 %. Ruang terbuka hijau Kalijodo memiliki komposisi luasan lahan bervegetasi sebesar 48 %. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, menggunakan metode campuran untuk menganalisis fungsi ruang terbuka hijau Kalijodo sebagai daerah resapan air dan sumber kenyamanan termal. Hasil penelitian terkait kemampuan penyerapan air menunjukkan nilai sebesar 44,98 %, dan belum memenuhi kriteria penyerapan air ideal suatu taman kota, yaitu sebesar 75-95 %. Hasil penelitian terkait nilai indeks kenyamanan termal (THI) menunjukkan nilai sebesar 30,75, dan nilai ini termasuk dalam kategori sangat tidak nyaman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ruang terbuka hijau Kalijodo tidak menjalankan fungsinya sebagai daerah resapan air dan sumber kenyamanan termal.

Green open space has an ecological function as a water catchment area and a source of thermal comfort, and will be optimal if it has a vegetated area of 80-90 %. Kalijodo green open space has a 48 % composition of vegetated land area. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach, using a mixed method to analyze the function of the Kalijodo green open space as a water catchment area and a source of thermal comfort. The results of the research related to the water absorption capacity showed a value of 44,98 %, and it did not meet the ideal water absorption criteria for a city park, which was 75-95 %. The results of the research related to the value of the thermal humidity index (THI) showed a value of 30,75, and this value was included in the very uncomfortable category. This results indicated that the Kalijodo green open space does not function as a water catchment area and a source of thermal comfort."

"Latar Belakang: Pada proses regenerasi jaringan terjadi ketidakseimbangan antara kebutuhan oksigen dengan suplai oksigen yang menyebabkan jaringan mengalami hipoksia relatif. Keadaan hipoksia diduga memiliki peran penting dalam proses regenerasi jaringan. Pada penelitian ini, dianalisis ekspresi protein dan gen yang berperan mengatasi keadaan hipoksia (HIF-1α dan HIF-2α), protein yang berperan dalam suplai oksigen (Cygb), protein yang menstimulasi biogenesis mitokondria (PGC-1α) serta enzim yang mampu menangkal radikal bebas (MnSOD) pada regenerasi jaringan. Regenerasi jaringan ekor pada cecak rumah (Hemidactylus platyurus) digunakan sebagai model dalam penelitian ini, karena merupakan hewan yang paling dekat secara taksonomi dengan mamalia yang memiliki daya regenerasi tinggi, dibandingkan vertebrata lain dengan kemampuan sama. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat menjadi model dalam mempelajari proses regenerasi dalam upaya pengembangan terapi penyembuhan luka.
Metode: Penelitian bersifat eksperimental deskriptif menggunakan jaringan 30 ekor cecak hasil regenerasi pada hari ke 1; 3; 5; 8; 10; 13; 17; 21; 25; dan 30 setelah autotomi dengan 3 kali pengulangan pada setiap pengamatan. Cecak diperoleh dari lingkungan laboratorium Zoologi Puslit Biologi LIPI Cibinong. Analisis ekspresi gen dilakukan dengan metoda qRT-PCR; analisis ekspresi protein dinilai dengan metoda Western Blot dan imunohistokimia, serta dilakukan analisis struktur histologi jaringan dengan pewarnaan hematoksilin-eosin. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Departemen Biokimia & Biologi Molekuler FKUI; laboratorium Histologi FKUI, laboratorium PRVKP FKUI, dan laboratorium Patologi Anatomi FKH IPB. Penelitian dalam kurun waktu tahun 2015-2018.
Hasil penelitian: Grafik pertumbuhan jaringan ekor cecak menghasilkan pola pertumbuhan yang lambat pada 13 hari pertama, pertumbuhan yang sangat cepat hari ke 13 sampai ke 21, dan kembali lambat sampai hari ke 30. Pada awal pertumbuhan, ekspresi HIF-1α dan HIF-2α tinggi menunjukkan jaringan dalam keadaan hipoksia. Tingginya ekspresi Cygb selama proses regenerasi jaringan dari awal hingga akhir pengamatan menunjukkan perannya untuk mengakomodasi oksigen selama proses regenerasi berlangsung. Ekspresi PGC-1α yang tinggi di awal proses dan tetap dipertahankan sampai akhir pengamatan berperan untuk mempertahankan agar energi untuk proses regenerasi dapat terpenuhi melalui biogenesis mitokondria. Tingginya ekspresi MnSOD dalam jaringan pada awal regenerasi diduga memiliki peranan yang berkaitan dengan netralisasi senyawa radikal dalam jaringan.
Kesimpulan: HIF 1α, HIF 2α, Cygb, PGC 1α dan MnSOD masing-masing memiliki peran penting tersendiri dalam proses regenerasi jaringan.

Background: In tissue regeneration there is an imbalance between oxygen demand and supply causes the tissue to experience relative hypoxia. Hypoxia is thought to have an important role in the tissue regeneration. This research analyzed the expression of proteins and genes that play role in overcoming hypoxia (HIF-1α dan HIF-2α); the protein involved in oxygen supply (Cygb); the protein that stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis (PGC-1α); and the enzyme counteract free radicals (MnSOD). The regeneration of house gecko's tail (Hemidactylus platyurus) was used as a model in this research, because it is the taxonomically closest animal to mammals that have a high capability in regeneration, compared to other vertebrates with the same ability. Hence, this study might become a model in studying tissue regeneration as an effort in developing a wound healing treatment.
Method: The research was performed in a descriptive experimental way, using 30 geckos, having undergone regeneration on day 1; 3; 5; 8; 10; 13; 17; 21; 25; and 30 after autotomy. The experiment used 3 repetitions for each observation. House geckos were obtained from the laboratory building of Zoology Research Center of Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Cibinong and its surrounding area. The analysis for gene expression was performed using qRT-PCR method; the analysis for protein expression was undertaken using Western Blot method and immunohistochemistry. In addition to these, the structure analysis for the tissue histology was performed using Haematoxilyn and Eosin (H&E) staining method. The study was conducted in the Laboratory of the Department of Molecular Biochemistry & Biology FKUI; Laboratory of the Department of Histology FKUI; laboratory of the Institute of Human Virology & Cancer Biology FKUI; and laboratoty of Phatology Anatomy of Animal Medicine, Institute of Agriculture Bogor, in the year 2015-2018.
Results: The graph for the growth of the gecko tail tissue exhibits a slow growth pattern for the first 13 days, followed by a very swift growth between day 13 to 21, returning to slow growth afterwards until day 30. In the early growth stage, the expression of HIF1α and HIF-2α were increased which showed the tissue was in hypoxia state. HIF protein regulates the contributing to the tissue regeneration process, leading to the increasing growth of tissue with the correlation values of r=-0,853 for HIF-1α; r=-0,75 The substantial expression of Cygb observed throughout the process of tissue regeneration indicates its role in accommodating oxygen in the regeneration process. The expression of PGC-1α was observed to be high in the early stages of the process and remain so until the process ends. This indicates its function in maintaining that sufficient energy provided by mitochondrial biogenesis is available for the regeneration process. The high level of MnSOD expression in the tissue in the early stage of regeneration is thought to relate to its role in neutralizing radicals inside the tissue.
Conclusion: HIF 1α, HIF 2α, Cygb, PGC 1α and MnSOD have their own important roles in the tissue regeneration process."

"Penelitian tentang karakter morfologi 14 jenis anggrek dari 7 tribus pada anak suku Epidendroideae telah dilakukan selama 1 tahun. Penelitian bertujuan untuk melengkapi deskripsi morfologi dari 14 jenis anggrek anggota anak suku Epidendroideae yang ada pada buku anggrek dan menduga karakter kunci yang menjadi penentu jenis, marga atau tribus dari ke 14 jenis tersebut. Spesimen segar dikumpulkan dari nurseri yang ada di Jakarta, Depok, Bogor,dan Bandung sedangkan spesimen herbarium berasal dari Herbarium Bogoriense. Data karakter morfologi berupa data kuantitatif, kualitatif, dan gambar berupa foto yang diambil dengan metode pengamatan langsung. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan program Microsoft Excel 2007 sehingga didapatkan kisaran ukuran, kemudian data kuantitatif dan kualitatif dibuat deskripsi. Data gambar berupa foto ditampilkan sebagai data visual.
Hasil penelitian ini berupa deskripsi yang lebih lengkap dibandingkan dengan deskripsi yang telah ada pada buku anggrek dan berhasil menambahkan sebanyak 65 karakter pada jenis Grammatophyllum scriptum, 72 pada G. speciosum, 61 pada Psychopsis papilio, 97 pada P. versteegiana, 48 pada Coelogyne asperata, 50 pada C. pandurata, 101 pada Epidendrum radicans, 66 pada E. floribundum, 81 pada Agrostophyllum bicuspidatum, 89 pada A. longifolium, 50 pada Dendrobium anosmum, 60 pada D. insigne, 84 pada Rhynchostylis gigantea, dan 81 pada R. retusa. Selain itu juga didapatkan karakter yang diduga sebagai karakter kunci seperti akar pikat, dimorfisme bunga, karakter pollinia berbentuk bulat pipih dengan aperture berlekuk (cleft), penempelan pada apical, caudicle tidak terlihat, stipe bercabang bentuk huruf U, viscidium lebar, tipis, dan transparan pada marga Grammatophyllum; tipe pertumbuhan monopodial pada tribus Vandeae; rumpun pseudobulbus yang berjarak karena dipisahkan oleh rhizoma, bentuk daun saat dalam pertumbuhan convolute dan lipatan daun plicate pada marga Coelogyne; ketiadaan struktur tambahan pada pollinia atau pollinia telanjang pada marga Dendrobium.

Research on morphological characters of 14 species of orchids in 7 tribes of subfamily Epidendroideae has been carried out. The aim of this research was to complete the morphological description of 14 orchids species from subfamily Epidendroideae in orchid books and assumed the key character of species, genus or tribes of 14 species. Plant specimens were collected from nurseries in Jakarta, Depok, Bogor,and Bandung, while the herbarium specimens originating from Herbarium Bogoriense. Morphological character data in the form of quantitative, qualitative, and images of photographs taken by the method of direct observation. Quantitative data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2007 to obtain the range of size, then quantitative and qualitative made the description. Images data displayed as visual data.
The result of this research was a more complete description than the existing one in orchid books and successfully adding as many as 65 characters on the species of Grammatophyllum scriptum, 72 on G. speciosum, 61 on Psychopsis papilio, 97 on P. versteegiana, 48 on Coelogyne asperata, 50 on C. pandurata, 101 on Epidendrum radicans, 66 on E. floribundum, 81 on Agrostophyllum bicuspidatum, 89 on A. longifolium, 50 on Dendrobium anosmum, 60 on D. insigne, 84 on Rhynchostylis gigantea, and 81 on R. retusa. Furthermore, it also found character which suspected as the key character, such as “pikat” roots, dimorphism of flower, the characters flat round shaped pollinia with grooved aperture (cleft), the attachment of the apical, caudicle not prominent, stipe forked shape of the letter U, viscidium wide, thin, and transparent in the genus Grammatophyllum; monopodial type of growth on Tribe Vandeae; clumps within pseudobulbus as separated by rhizome, shape of developing leaves convolute and plicate leaf in genus Coelogyne; absence of additional structure on pollinia or pollinia naked in the genus Dendrobium.

"Katalis merupakan doping suatu reaksi dengan maksud memperbesar kecepatan reaksi. Katalis terlibat dalam reaksi tetapi tidak mengalami perubahan kimiawi yang permanen sehingga pada akhir reaksi katalis akan dijumpai kembali dalam bentuk dan jumlah yang sama seperti sebelum reaksi.Namun katalis tidak dapat digunakan selamanya. Deaktivasinya aktivitas katalis diduga disebabkan karena terjadi penutupan pori oleh kokas (coke). Regenerasi merupakan proses yang dilakukan untuk menghilangkan kandungan kokas di dalam katalis. Siklus deaktivasi dan regenerasi katalis ini dapat melihat berapa lama masa aktif dari katalis. Siklus aktif katalis yang paling lama terjadi saat proses rentang waktu deaktivasi 3 jam dan suhu regenerasi 450oC. produk akhir siklus yang masih bisa terproduksi sebesar 1.9% Benzena, 0.9% Toluenea dan 0.7 % Xylene.Dari hasil siklus deaktivasi dan regenerasi katalis HZSM-5 dapat terlihat pula kemampuan shape selectivity dari katalis HZSM-5.

The catalyst is a reaction with the intention of doping increase the reaction rate. Catalyst in the reaction but not a permanent chemical change so that at the end of the catalytic reaction will be found back in shape and the same number as before the reaction. However, the catalyst can not be used forever. Deactivated catalyst activity alleged to be caused due to the closure of pores by coke. Regeneration is a process to eliminate the content of coke in the catalyst. In this case regeneration is using air resulting in oxidation reactions. Cycle Deactivation and regeneration of Catalyst can knowing how long active time from catalyst. Cycle active catalyst who longest active at process 3 hours deactivation and 450oC regeneration temperature. The last product who can still production at last cycle is 1.9 % Benzene, 0.9 % Toluene and 0.7 % Xylene. From the results cylcle deactivation and regeneration of catalyst HZSM-5 can we see shape selectivity from catalyst HZSM-5."

"Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) merupakan partai politik Islam yang lahir dari sebuah gerakan sosial keagamaan yang sering disebut Tarbiyah. Universitas Indonesia merupakan salah satu kampus yang menjadi titik awal berkembangnya Jamaah Tarbiyah di Indonesia. Hingga saat ini Tarbiyah kampus masih menjadi salah satu basis sosial utama PKS. Skripsi ini membahas bagaimana Jamaah Tarbiyah UI sebagai basis sosial PKS melakukan proses kaderisasi terhadap anggotanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara mendalam. Skripsi ini memaparkan Jamaah Tarbiyah UI memiliki struktur organisasi yang berkoordinasi dengan PKS, namun hal ini disamarkan. Jamaah Tarbiyah UI membangun sistem mulai dari rekrutmen, kaderisasi, dan pembinaan yang sistematis. Hal ini tidak lain adalah strategi yang dilakukan PK dalam rangka mempertahankan basis sosialnya dari kalangan kaum muda terdidik.

PKS is an Islamic political party which was formed by a social of religious movement named Tarbiyah. UI is one of Universities that becomes the starting point of Jamaah Tarbiyah development. Tarbiyah is still one of the main bases of PKS. This thesis use qualitative method with indepth interview. This thesis deals with how Jamaah Tarbiyah UI as the social base of PKS does the process of cadre formation to their members. It also discusses further that Jamaah Tarbiyah UI has an organization structure that is coordinated with PKS which is not officially published. Jamaah Tarbiyah UI also develops the system of the recruitment, cadre formation, and systematical training. All of these are the strategies done by PKS in order to maintain their social base of educated youth."
