"The following personal and poetic inquiry examines Indonesian objects, art, and cultural expressions through the lensing of coloniality (A. Benítez Rojo 1992; A. Quijano and M. Ennis 2000; W.D. Mignolo 2011). The inquiry interacts with the objects, art, and cultural expressions through the creation of ekphrastic poetry – poems which describe works of art. Specifically, this inquiry examines my experiences with Dutch coloniality as a white cisgendered man with a Dutch heritage/inheritance who was born and raised in a predominantly Dutch immigrant community in West Michigan in the United States. Building from the work of Gloria Wekker and given my positionality, I am interested, “in the landscape that underlies the question, the cultural archive, and what it tells us about the continuities of the imperial construction of a dominant white Dutch self”(2016: 74). The personal, poetic aspects of this work engage the practices and experiences which have led me to where I am both in my professional and personal life. These aspects of my life within and beyond the academy allow me to examine histories critically and consider my entanglements with whiteness and within the matrix of coloniality of power through ekphrastic poetry."

"This book tells several stories. The first is a teacher’s journey to discover a different way of teaching and learning. The second is a summary of the theory used to explain and justify the change in pedagogy to the wider school community. The third are stories from student and teachers who practice inquiry learning. The result is a description of 6 essential elements for a successful inquiry learning environment. Although this research was conducted at a single school, it offers important insights for other schools who are considering change to a more constructivist, sustainable approach to education. "

"Biology courses in senior high school can play an important role in the effort to improve the student critical thinking skill. This study has been carried out to develope the instructional sets called PPBI and to evaluate its implementation effects on the critical thinking skill of the tenth grade student. The PPBI was developed according to the Dick & Carey model’s. The quasi experimental research was conducted as a factorial design and the data analysed using Anacova. The results show that student who learn using PPBI obtained better scores on critical thinking skills, student who learn through STAD cooperative strategy has higher scores of critical thinking skill than the TGTs student, and there were no significant effects of the interaction of the instructional sets with the type of cooperative strategies on student critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the implementation of PPBI gave significant contribution to the developement of student critical thinking skills."

"Keefektifan Model Experiential Learning dalam Pembelajaran Menulis Puisi Naratif SMP Negeri 2 Dua Pitue Kabupaten Sidrap. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui (1) hasil penerapan model Experiential Learning dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi naratif, (2) hasil penerapan tanpa menggunakan model Experiential Learning dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi naratif, (3) keefektifan model Experiential Learning dalam menulis puisi naratif siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Dua Pitue Kabupaten Sidrap. Desain penelitian yang digunakan bersifat eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Dua Pitue Kabupaten Sidrap. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu siswa kelas VIII.2 sebagai kelas
eksperimen dan kelas VIII.3 sebagai kelas control. Penarikan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling, artinya penentuan sampel dilakukan secara sengaja dengan jumlah yang ditentukan sesuai dengan kebutuhan analisis. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menentukan data penelitian ini adalah tes tertulis. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik statistika deskriptif dan statistika inferensial. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa (1) penerapan model Experiential Learning berpengaruh signifikan dilihat dari nilai tes awal ke tes akhir yakni nilai rata-rata tes awal sebesar 64 menjadi 80,74 setelah dilakukan tes akhir, yakni nilai rata-rata sebesar 16,74, (2) hasil penerapan tanpa menggunakan model Experiential Learning menunjukkan hasil nilai rata-rata tes awal sebesar 61,63 dan menjadi 71,59 setelah dilakukan tes akhir dengan peningkatan
sebesar 9,96, (3) uji analisis data dengan menggunakan Independent Sample T-tes menunjukkan perolehan nilai
p=0,000 karena p ≤ α =0,05 pada derajat kebebasan 44, maka H yang menyatakan keefektifan terhadap penerapan model Experiential Learning dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi naratif siswa diterima. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model Experiential Learning efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi naratif SMP Negeri 2 Dua Pitue Kabupaten Sidrap"
